  1. Nice photo. I do wish that Tatiana had let us see the outfit that was under her austere white coat; I think it may have been one of her best so far but it looks like we'll never know. Beatrice, excruciatingly lovely and chic (I know, it's her default setting lol). It looks like Charlene is really trying to smile, so I'm beginning to wonder if maybe the "botox theory" is in fact the explanation. Caroline and Stephanie's joyful smiles are doing their best to lighten up the proceedings.

    1. In some videos of their entrance it looks like a grey full midi skirt and a blouse.

  2. Wow, love Pss Charlene's white suit. Pss's Alexandra's Stephanie's and Caroline from what one can see of her outfit look very lovely. Alexandra is so grown up. I like Beatrice dress not the coat. Marie's dress lovely blue but to tight, Tatiana's coat is something different for a change. The children are the winners her, the little Uniform on Jacques is adorable so is Gabriella's little outfit so do their cousins in their gray coats.

    2. It's an official family photo of Monaco's Prince where Princess Charlotte, her husband and children are actually missing. But Charlene's family is not one of them.

    3. Princess Stephanie's daughters, Pauline and Camille, are missing too.

  10. Why is Charlene in to the masculine fashion..? A statement?

  11. It's a pity that not all of the youngsters attended the picture. (And I miss Charlotte Casiraghi-Rassam with her family too.) I have to admit, although Prince Albert is doing a good job for Monaco, I still see Princess Caroline as their First Lady. Sorry about that.
Beatrice Borromeo-Casiraghi is pure beauty and elegance. :)

    2. There are many people in Monaco who think exactly the same. One of the extremely few places where the rule of primogeniture doesn’t apply. And it’s not going to change soon either (Albert won’t want his illegitimate daughter - who he recently admitted to having fathered - to be the next head of state. It should have been Rainier the one to make the change.

Caroline is the one who still ‘rules’ by many accounts on the non-state occasions. And there is acceptance from Albert - if not officially recognized. That will unfortunately lessen over time. For all the times I admired the Grimaldis, being open-minded (one could even call it ‘being fair’), was never their strength. Certainly suits in keeping a strong sense of tradition, but also feels a little’stone age’ in some respects.

Anyway, this is a good photo. We all wished the missing younger generation had been there (Charlotte, Pauline...), but it’s still nice see them in a family photo (and if I really squint, I can even stretch it and assume Charlene was making efforts to smile, or at least look less martyrized). It’s amazing when you think at how close the young generation on Caroline’s side are, including the two Hanover brothers who are their step brothers (in particular with the strained relationship with Ernst August senior). I have to believe Caroline tried to make Charlene part of the family like she does with everyone.

Fashion-wise, they all alright. Can’t say anyone stands out for me. I don’t favour Beatrice’s black which-tartan looking outfit (yes, I know it’s not the same, this is a Dior runway look , but the first impression is that of tartan). The cut engulfs her. She looks a lot better in more polished and streamlined cuts. It may be trendy - but doesn’t look classic like we’ve been accustomed by her.

At least Tatiana hasn’t gone over the top boho.

  14. Princess Caroline of Hanover is still in a young age if you look to Danmark or the Uk with Prince Charles or if you look to suedish Royals. Aar

  15. Princess Charlene has never been a huge smiley person if you look back from beginning of dating. Could be culture, or personal. The big picture is perhaps to look and see what she does for the country and people around her; new topic perhaps.

    1. I think she is quite naturally reserved but actually she used to have some very broad big smiles even they weren't constant. There has been a change in the last few years.

    2. Have a lost Howe ‘restrained’ she looks when congratulating race drivers (and that is in her role as princess; never mind when she hugs outside the royal events).
