  2. in my opinion the First Lady of Poland is the more elegant lady today. Her Outfit is perfect in my eyes, especially this extremely well tailored suit. Together with the coat her outfit is much more flattering than this shapeless coat Queen Maxima is wearing.

    1. I totally agree!
      What an elegant first lady!
      And still very modest:
      Love iT!

  3. The first lady looks really very chic! I am not so fond of Maxima's coat, the colour is wonderful, but not the shape.

  4. Superbe silhouette de l'épouse du président de la république de Pologne... Même si je ne suis fan, j'aime beaucoup son bibi original !!!

  5. Four impressively tall people, elegantly dressed. There's a very polished, retro 1950s glam vibe going on with the ladies, and I adore it.

  6. Love the hat of the first lady of Poland! It is a perfect size and the colors and style are so chic.

  8. This is the third or fourth time that we are seeing the Polish First Lady on a state visit in recent months and years, and she has hit the mark of elegance every time. Well done to a lady (and her advisors) who know how to get it right in so many ways - fabrics, style, colours, posture, etc.

  9. No, Maxima. No. That coat looks terrible despite the vibrant colour. That is the most clumsily constructed collar I´ve ever seen, the sleeves are too short and the whole thing has a distinct rain coat vibe. Also, I have no idea why she kept it on indoors, what that little button thing is that´s pinned to the coat (the gentlemen seem to have one too?), and why one would choose pink lip stick to go with a red outfit. The hat I cannot see well, but it doesn´t look promising either.

Mrs. Duda on the other hand looks so classy. She is one elegant lady and always well turned out. Her skirt suit is perfect, the coat well chosen, the hat goes with both. And her black-and white scarf is an interesting addition. Super poised, great posture as well.

    1. I actually like the collar BUT thats all I like. As a casual coat with flying loose hair, coat much shorter and worn with pants she might have got away with it but with that 50's hat and so unflattering a length for her leg type I hate it. She is in desparate need of a new milliner who studies her face and build and makes more flattering designs for her.

  10. The Polish First Lady is so chic and elegant. I have to see her not perfectly put together. I love her hat. It went with coat and picks up the colors in her tweed dress. I like the idea of Maxima’s swing coat but I think it failed in execution. The pleating looks heavy but it is a beautiful color.

  12. I would appreciate it if the author of this fashion blog brought photos - at least sometimes - outfits of female presidents in Europe on state visits. They are the presidents of Croatia (Mrs. Kolinda Grabar) and Slovakia (Mrs. Zuzana Caputova). They are heads of state, as the reigning queens are heads of their states, and unlike all those princesses, they have come to their positions by their own merit. Above all, President Caputova is an elegant woman and represents her country well. Find her photos on a state visit to France or Germany at google.com. What do you think? That would be refreshing.

    1. I fully agree with you. I don't know the two ladies but they are indeed presidents of their country thanks to our own merits.

    1. athis hilarious description of the red coat is spot on. I had to put it into google translate to understand it as I do not understand all the French words but I completely agree.

  14. Ich denke mal, das Geld das von der EU aus nach Polen geht ist superb angelegt. Maxima sieht in dem roten Dingens ein bisschen trutschig aus. Das Rot gefällt mir.

  15. The Queen and the First Lady of Poland look great. I like Maximas coat also the semi rushing on the neck, red is a good color for Maxima. The First Lady Mrs Duda looks very elegant, I like this suit a lot.

    1. Thank you, I appreciate your reply.
I figured that it must be some symbolic pin because it couldn´t really be a brooch. I like her gesture of wearing it, but I don´t think that´s how it´s intended to be worn. It´s more of buttonhole pin to be attached to a jacket´s lapel. On her large shapeless coat, it gets lost and looks weird.

  17. Oh my that coat makes me see Lucille Ball back in her show with Desi pregnant and wearing a coat just like that!! The hat isn't too far off either. I love retro looks but this is a bad looking 1952 image. Bad then. Still bad.

  18. I love Madame Duda's suit but the coat is too dressing gown like for me and I'm not mad about the hat. I'm always biased in favour of anything red but I do really like Maxima's outfit, with a very appealing 1950s vibe. Hat, gloves, shoes and bag are all great and I love the style of the coat but not too sure that the neckline is the most flattering for the Queen. Well done for trying some thing a bit different--and for the tidy hair!

  19. The silhouette of Maxima's coat reminds me of a coat Diana had when she was pregnant. The idea of the coat is not horrible, but this was not the best time to wear it. I think it would look much better at a car coat length and worn casually. The chunky gathered collar is cute, but in a casual coat. The color is fantastic. I can only guess why she has left her coat on when she was indoors, but it may have been because she wearing Natan and the First Lady looked so good she didn't dare reveal her ugly frock to her. While burgundy is not my first choice when accessorizing red, I applaud the effort.

Mrs. Duda looks very elegant. Her coat has a beautiful line and coordinates perfectly with her suit. Her suit is impeccably taylored and looks terrific on her. An excellent first impression, Mrs. Duda.

  22. I think that the deux-pièce of mrs. Duda is well made and elegant, but also a very old fashioned model (fifties). Love the coat and colour of Máxima, but it should have been a bit shorter, because then the look would be more youthful and modern. And finally hair well done. Anna

  23. The President's wife looks amazing. Love the coat, it is the perfect fit and lenght, so chic. Her suit looks divine, accessories are perfect. She is very elegant and all class. Queen Maxima, well wow, the colour of her coat is lovely, but it is shapeless not well cut and sleeves are not a good length. Her headgear is a miss for me.

  24. usually I love Maximas style a lot, but this time, sorry to say, it's a complete fail imho.

The coat is awful, it looks like a closed sack and hase no shape. the headpiece is not very nice and the colour of that and of her lipstick misfit a lot with this horrible coat. also the colour of her tights doesn't seem to correspond well with the outfit.
