Crown Princess Mary attended celebrations held for the International Day of the Girl Child 2019

On October 11, Crown Princess Mary attended an event organized by PlanBørnefonden at Gasværksvejens School in Copenhagen on the occasion of "International Day of the Girl Child". October 11 has been celebrated as the “International Day of the Girl Child” since 2012 by the decision of the member countries of the UN. The day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, and promote girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. The theme for 2019 is "GirlForce: Unscripted and Unstoppable." PlanBørnefonden is Denmark's largest privately funded children's rights organization and celebrates Girl's Day with various events.
