| The traditional opening of the new working year of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag) took place on September 10, 2019, Tuesday. A traditional church service was held at Stockholm Cathedral (Storkyrkan - Church of St. Nicholas) before the opening. The Royal family, that is, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia attended that church service. Afterwards, the Royal family attended the opening of 2019 working year of the Parliament at Riksdag building in Stockholm. |

I look at Victoria in the 3rd picture and she looks like a different person. This taylored suit transforms her. This is also the perfect time for her hair to be pulled up. She looks very refined. Silvia's cape is very chic. It is nice to see a change from the usual wrap. From what I can see of Sofia, I like her dress. This is a conservative look for her, but it still has style. I also like that her hair has been tamed for this occasion, with no wisps or tendrils.

ردحذفI first thought that Silvia´s look was very dark, but with the white cape and hat, it´s a very chic outfit.
I love Victoria´s skirt suit that she´s worn several times for this occasion. I agree with chardonn8r above that a tailored outfit makes her look a million times better. She is in great shape, and this is a sharp look while still being perfectly elegant. I´m not crazy about her head thing, but I like that it is white.
Sofia: I like that she snuck in some colour but I find the thing on her head very odd. Her dress is nice and fits her perfectly, great classic shoes as well, but overall a very dark look. I find outfits almost entirely in black very depressing, especially on brunettes. The aubergine accessories help a bit but it´s still very dark overall.

حذفIt looks always like a funeral for Sweden, every year. All the ladies are chic, but what are Victoria and Sofia wearing on their heads?? Silly. Victoria should stay more often with those little "Chanel" outfits. It suits her, makes her more feminin.

حذفLike Rainha Leonor, I saw the first photo and thought it was a funeral. Then I read the heading properly! I love the fact that the outfits follow this (mainly) black and white tradition for this event. Queen Silvia looks good and I agree with all those who have commented on how good Victoria looks in this kind of streamlined outfit. However, Sofia is the winner for me--love the dress, the shoes and adore the head piece (hat/fascinator, bow--whatever it is). She looks fantastic. great looks for everybody.

حذفQueen Silvia modernized the dress code years ago but kept the same black/white; now it looks as if Sofia might think she's entitled to do the same.

I agree. Sofia is mainly in black. I don’t think she is breaking any rules. And I am sure the queen would make her change if she was. She wore black and grey last year. Obviously nobody said anything. She looks wonderful.
