On September 7, 2019, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako visited Akita Prefecture to attend a national meeting for the promotion of healthy oceans. Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako also visited an animal welfare center at Odate station in Akita City. Afterwards, the Emperor and the Empress attended a reception in Akita City.

    The Empress looks great - if she must choose tailored clothing, she is making the best of it. She wears slacks well. And they both look rested and happy.

    I like her in both outfits. White seems to be good for her. My fav photos are the ones with the dogs. They both look so happy and natural with the animals.

    Nice Nautical look for outfit #1. The white suit with the ruffle jacket looks great. Empress Masako will do a great job,as long as the IHA let her do it,her way. She shows lots of self confidence. Also nice pics with the dogs. Pic #10 is cute. The best to her for the future.

    I like how the Japanese royal ladies wear size-appropriate clothes - never tight across the bust and they hang/fit nicely. It looks so much better when clothes fit properly. Hellooooo some European royal ladies, but I won't mention who is guilty (I think most of us know). /Julie/

    Yes, she is quite happy in her new role, but let's be honest. The tailoring of most of her jackets leaves much to be desired. The fit is quite baggy. I hope that the empress can find someone who can make her petite figure look its best.

    Ich möchte gar nichts zur Mode sagen. Wie immer sind die Sachen sorgfältig hergestellt und ausgewählt worden. Mich rührt es, dieses Paar, das ja so einiges durchmachen musste, so glücklich zu sehen. Was war nur so schrecklich, dass die damalige Kronprinzessin so völlig von der Bildfläche verschwand und die Öffentlichkeit nicht ertrug? Wie gut, dass sie es überstanden hat!
