Another full, flowered dress (two piece) on a royal lady....sigh
At least her boots are cute and modern looking.

  4. What a lovely dress for her. The colour suits her.

  5. How many outfits of that sort does she need? I´m puzzled. That looks like her other 125745 frumpy floral dresses. And those shoes, my goodness what an awful combination. 70s blouse + 40s shoes; floaty summer dress + those winter shoes. And that skirt length + high shoes make her legs look extra stumpy.
I think the skirt might look alright if combined with a tight-fitted white top and strappy sandals. The rest (blouse and shoes) can be donated to charity or some vintage fashion museum.

    Daniel´s suit is too small.
The lady with the black-and-white outfit looks cute.

    1. You're right, she has plenty of those dresses.
I don't like these boots neither, but I saw them last winter in some shops. So I got the idea, that her shoes should create a modern twist.
And yes, the shoes make her legs look shorter than they really are...

Vanessa, you are right. Another floral outfit when she already owns several closets full of them! Another pussy-bow blouse. Another midi length skirt. Plus her usual tight and severe hairstyle. And who wears summer skirt with booties??? At least the color and print of her skirt+blouse are lovely (but these do not look like peonies!).

Sorry, but I don`t like this shoes for this nice ensemble of skirt and blouse. The colour is perfect but simple high heels would be better IMO. Her smile is warm and amazing as always.

Those Victoria & Daniel masks are hilarious. Victoria's fugly shoes are too dark for what she's wearing (when I put my finger over them, the outfit isn't all that bad). Peonies are a beautiful flower, but what's on that outfit doesn't even look like anything like the pink peonies in my back yard. Dear Ida Sjöstedt - it's time for a class in botany. /Julie/

CP Victoria looks great. She likes this style obviously, so that's why she has many like it. We can barely see her legs so how can you tell they look stumpy?? - Capt. Marvel

    1. Exactly! We can barely see her legs, and the little we can see makes her legs look short and stumpy, although they´re not. Most women´s outfits and shoes intentionally create an illusion of a longer leg (hence the heels etc), but Victoria does the opposite here. The skirt is midilength and that cuts the leg at an unflattering height already, and to have those shoes visually cut of the foot makes matters even worse.
I don´t like midi-skirts because they don´t flatter most shapes. You can get away with that length if you´re already tall and slender and are wearing high heels to balance things out.
I don´t like booties because they "cut off" the foot from the leg instead of creating a continuous line making the foot visually extend the leg. You can get away with booties if you´re tall and slender already and combine the shoes with a knee-length high-waisted skirt or tight-fitting dress visually extending the leg upwards and thus balancing out the shorter looking leg line. This was the approach in the 40s when those shoes were in fashion.
But Victoria´s horizontal lines are just wrong to my eyes. It´s all about proportions.

Love the booties. I like the color and the pattern but for some reason I don’t love the top, skirt and boots together. Her make- up looks great again today.

  12. J'aime beaucoup le style et la couleur des bottines ; l'ensemble de la tenue très légère serait beaucoup mieux sans ce gros nœud. Un petit décolleté en V lui irait davantage !!!

I love the booties but agree they’re a bit heavy for this light and floaty outfit. I too am very sick of these retro looks, especially the pussy bow blouse. The colours are flattering though....(V.M.)

  17. If the proportions are off, the outfit doesn't work, no matter how nice its separate components may be. Ankle boots with skirts break up and shorten the visual line of a woman's legs, which indeed does make them look "stumpy" which is not an attractive look. This is also the principal issue when heavy trainers are worn with skirts. (If trendiness is the only consideration, of course, aesthetics are irrelevant.)

    1. Ha! I just wrote pretty much the same in response to someone asking why her legs look stumpy. You had explained this so well already - making my comment superfluous.

    2. I think your comment is expressed beautifully, Vanessa, and covers the subject more fully than mine. It’s great to see that we have a similar pov wrt what someone on another blog called “shooties” (shoes + bootees) 😀

I quite like her all in all natural appearance. If you are not a supermodel and you like ankle boots you can not win, can you? She could slim down, but her bonestructure will not change. Is there more than one way to have fun with fashion as a proud women?
Are we used to comment rather badly about CP Victoria? Why do we not comment about stumpy looking men. Why always this couple?

  21. Like the dress, like the shoes but definitely to together. Although it's another floral, it is, in my opinion, summery and pretty. While I rather like the shoes but they are awful with this dress and ruin the look. Sandals or light coloured shoes would have looked so much better.

I think Victoria will be amazing queen one day and she seems to be the kindest person, but she is not interested in fashion and her stylist is a failure. V has very nice but short body and thats something the stylist should consider more.
