  1. An attractive woman - this was often overlooked , but she didn‘t really care. In any case , other things in life were more important to her.

    1. Well said, Hedy! She was a very beautiful lady indeed and still has charm and personality. As mentioned before, she might be underrated, but is very hard working and I really like and appreciate her.

  4. Congratulations princess Anne, I have to say that I have never been a fan of her fashion choices, but I recognize that she has a very impressive presence, always serene, appropriate and that made her very attractive in my eyes.

  6. I hope the Princess Royal has a wonderful birthday. I believe she is one of the hardest working and, perhaps, the most under appreciated royal of the family. Her sense of fashion might not be flamboyant but you must admire her economy in preserving and wearing well made garments for many years (some for decades), rather than constantly trying to wear the latest trend. She has her priorities and fashion is not one of them.

    2. well said! Couldn't agree more. Certainly not a frivolous spender. In particular for a born royal, something some of the newer generation could take some example from. Best values from her majesty got transferred to her, sense of duty and balance in life. Happy Birthday your royal highness!

  7. I always liked the Leibovitz pic with the Queen. To me, it always looks like mum and daughter have been caught in a bit of mischief. :-)

  11. Anne is indeed a very hard working royal and has been a tremendous asset to the BRF. I have always admired her for deciding not to give her children titles, which enabled them to live somewhat more normal lives. While I have found most of her current fashion choices and hair style unfortunate, there is no denying that she was once very stylish. The yellow coat and hat (above) from 1968 is a great example. That could make a reappearance now on one of the younger royals and look fabulous.

  13. Hard working, down to earth, no nonsense——— all regular phrases for Princess Anne. At almost 70, she has a fantastic figure; to be able to fit into clothes worn decades ago is so impressive. As long as she is clean and tidy, she cares little about her appearance which is so refreshing especially in this appearance obsessed era. She has been loyal to the causes she initially worked for and gets on with the job while more flamboyant or controversial figures come and go. She appears to be a loving daughter and sister and has brought up two happy well adjusted offspring, who seem to share her outlook and have now produced 4 lively granddaughters. She remains one of the outstanding stars of the royal family. Happy birthday, your Royal Highness.

  14. Princess Anne has mellowed over the years she never liked attention. As a very intelligent person she could never get what all the fuss was about clothes, in the tabloids;so she would wear what she wanted;recycle or upcycle everything. I like her she is a great ambassador for the Royal family. Her style is sleek and smart. A great horsewoman and sailor. She loves her mum. One time in Scotland she went to the local post office and said "Could you ring a taxi for my mum";my fried was behind her in the que. Happy Birthday Anne

  19. Yes the Leibovitz photo is marvellous. Literally and figuratively she has her mother’s back. I think she’s a wonderful woman who has taken on her duties without fuss or fanfare. (V.M.)
