Bueno, vistos los últimos 'outfits', parece que Leticia ha conseguido, finalmente, refinarse un poco después de tantos años.

    1. Me encanta este blog porque aquí la gente no suele criticar más que la ropa .

    2. Letizia's style has certainly evolved since she married Felipe, but that is true for most of us, isn't it? These are two very different occasions. You are comparing a casual daytime outing with the children, when Letizia was a princess, to an official evening event when Letizia is the Queen. Besides the fact that styles have changed in the past 10 years, she certainly should be dressed differently as a young mom with her children. With the exception of the color of her hair, Sophia looks basically the same for each event. The fabric is different of course, but the style is the same, the layers of jewelry are the same, and to be blunt, there is something very familiar about the way she is holding the hands of her young granddaughters. It looks to me like Letizia is dressed for each occasion, while Sophia has been stuck in a fashion rut for the last decade.

    3. @ Anonymous 3:22 AM, What do you mean with >>Leticia ha conseguido, finalmente, refinarse un poco después de tantos años.<< Letizia got it finally right after so many years? What a mean spirited comment! Letizia is always dressed impeccable and perfectly right for the occasion. What sense does it make to compare a ten year old photo, where she is strolling around with the kids to photos showing an evening reception in the summer palace? It is normal to dress casual for a casual event and to dress up for an official reception.

I must say these numerous 'Anonymous' have not added to this blog. It often seems there are just trolls hiding behind the 'No name' posts. If you have something to say, put your name under your comment and if you have nothing to say but share your prejudices leave it. This blog does not ruminate the mean spirited Yellow Press biases.

      Saludos,
      Marcia

Beth, What difference does it make if someone chooses not to give their name. The chance that we know each other and are one big happy family is slim to none. Even so what can be accomplished if you did know their name!!! Nothing

    8. @ Anonymous, First, it is nice and kind to sign a post with your name, even if it is a nickname - Beth is not my real name it is short for Elisabeth, who would have thought ;-)) - and it helps to refer to a post. Less confusion. If you are long enough on a site - I for instance visit this blog for about eight years now, you kind of get to know people by their nickname and of course this is not real life friendship, but it is nice. On Instagram and Facebook I have actually made real friends and have met them in person.

Second: Unfortunately there are often people hiding behind 'Anonymous' who tend to leave nasty comments. What they don't know, or deliberately ignore, on the internet count the same rules as in real life. It is forbidden to insult people, personally, sexually and racially, it is forbidden to deliberately spread false news. It is a lot of work for a blog owner to moderate comments and sort these people out.Unfortunately public authorities don't have enough staff to trail cyber bullying. That's what these people rely on.

Of course there are also nice people who write as Anonymous. But it is really not a great deal to create a Google account and choose a nickname. For good reasons there are many blogs who don't accept members without signing in with a real name (you can still use a nickname) and an accountable E-Mail adress.

Wow!! How can Letizia look so great day after day? What a sense of elegance and great taste.
Also like the Queen Sofia and needles to say that Felipe is the most handsome king of his time.

    3. That is nonsense. These shoes are not too high for her. They may be too high for you personally, but Letizia and many other women do just fine in heels. She looks gorgeous, and her shoes add to the overall look. She has taken a simple but immaculate dress (in the red she looks so good in) and added amazing shoes that take this dress to the next level. A plain, neutral colored, lower heeled shoe would not have made her outfit the showstopper it is here.

I do perfectst fine on high heels, thank you. These shoes are not too high for me (when I was younger that is;-)) nor for my taste. I noticed that Letizia stands (not walks) a bit off balance on these shoes.... and as far as“nonsense” is concerned: Maybe for you but not for me....

    8. Totally agree. Makes no sense to say that she looks gorgeous but the heels are too high. They this amazing dress with flats and it would look dowdy. Like Lily T, once I could manage in heels that height, now I tend to stick to 3” max, even on dressy occasions. It’s a formal event. All power to her heels and smart dressing. She looks superb.

Queen Sofia chose also a great color for her, this fresh soft mint color made her looks vibrant.

@Cherry. I would guess this is a bespoke CH. It is cross between the polka dot worn on her trip to the DR and the red worn to Covadonga in terms of the style, and the fit and flare. Like the much maligned Varela, they have managed to fit her body perfectly, and keep the length of the dresses at a respectable level for a 'mom of teens' look. There are pictures today where she is wearing a white dress that is quite similar to the bright pink with buttons first worn in NO. The Mallorca suitcase looks like all the work of CH, with the exception of the AD white lace dress. Fashion wise everything gets a 10.
@ 9:01 it is never fashionable to leave oneself in evidence as the class cl*wn.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Marygold B, I think you are right it may very well be a CH, this dress is made to emphasize her best features, perfectly straight shoulders, well toned arms, and adding volume on the hips.
@ Marcia, it's obvious by your somewhat derisive tone that you aren't a fan of Letizia, and that includes her style, but my goodness, if you want to critize her in that10 year old photo, you should also take a look at Sofia, because she looks just as bad:-) and speaking of her, IMO the queen emeritus has never been elegant or stylish, she always wore very rancid outfits, and in the few occasions that she chose a good one, she managed to add so much jewelry and add hoc accessories that generally spoiled the effect, not to talk about her old fashioned hair, even in her 30's she was coiffed like a much older woman. Just you be clear, my comment is about fashion and definitely subjective, I have nothing but respect for her and always found her to be appropriately dressed and very charming.
@ Beth, you are correct, all these anonymous bloggers throwing darts, agreeing with themselves and the hiding, are just so juvenile.....

There is nothing wrong with refining one's sense of style and appearance. (Many hippies cut their hair and bought suits and ties). In the past 20 years technology and fashion lead the way in a stream of rapid change. The Queen at 46 has seen enough
in fashion to decide what colors and styles suit her best, when to bring the drama to an occasion (Arco) and when to tone it down (Family outings). At this stage of her life she has to represent her girls with more mature looks. This vacation she has succeeded. Well done! ...and a learning experience for her girls as well.
Reaching back 10 years (3,650 days ago) to find critical material is petty and shows a willingness to let the past hold the writer hostage. That outfit was appropriate in its time, and is actually in stores again in pastel shades. The previous consort presented the same 2 piece suits in a rainbow of colors from haute couture designers, nothing that the average person could go out to buy. She presented as a pretty vase with the same hair and perma-smile at her events. 'Royalty' on a pedestal of high end clothes and other luxuries is becoming less sustainable in today's world. - MB
