That symposium is a part of "World Water Week" event. World Water Week is organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and takes place in Stockholm, Sweden on an annual basis. The dress fits better the princess than the model, but I don't like much the color.

حذفVery odd-looking...quite a baffling choice but it demonstrates, I think, that Victoria's sense of style remains a work-in-progress. Time and again she gets it so right, and then gets it so wrong.

What a lovely warm and bright colour! Together with the king’s tie it reminds of the colours of the Swedish flag. I don’t think it’s a disaster at all, quite the contrary. Normally there is an overload of blue in the royal ladies’ garderobes, even if it doesn’t suit everyone and is pretty boring to the eye, so it’s lovely to see real colours once in a while, too. And with Victoria’s partly Brazilian complexion, the colour really comes to life.

ردحذف(If I was forced to pick the better of the two, I would pick this one, the way it is worn on the model: loose and unconventional, and constructed for quirky casual wear, not dolled up to look formal. The lines and cut don't work to wear this dress any other way.)

ردحذفThe dress in the first photo was, I thought, a nice color and a departure for Victoria. However, the full length photos made me think of a monk's habit (albeit in an unusual color).
ردحذفThe dress is okay, but the color is not good. It looks like she spilled mustard all over her dress. I also like it better when she wears more fitted, tailored clothing.

ردحذفI like the mustard color of the dress. It looks better when she is moving than standing still. I think if the dress was 4-5 inches shorter so it would hit mid-calf would make a big difference.

Rodebjer is not a brand only few women can pull off. I hope the princess will one day understand that she does not belong to this group.
ردحذفOn the positive side, I like the color of her dress, and the fact that she is in a solid color as opposed to a print. I also like her earrings, and her shoes and purse are not horrible. A contrasting color for her shoes and bag would have been nice, but that seems to be a challenge for Victoria. I do not like her in this unstructured dress. She has a lovely figure and there is no need to hide it in all this fabric. One final thought--since her hair is always up, she should probably have her neck cleaned up. The baby hairs have gotten longer and are giving her a messy hairline behind her ears and the side of her neck.
ردحذفWhile I still think the tightly pulled back bun is not the best choice ALL the time for such a young woman, I do agree with you that if that is going to be her choice then at least the neck hair needs cleaning up.
حذفSo glad you mentioned Victoria's messy hairline. Whenever I see side pictures of her I only see her hairy neck. I find it messy, ugly, and associate it with excess androgenes. Is it too much to have the hairline cleaned?? It would make such a difference as she insist to wear her hair in a bun.

ردحذفWell it doesn't look really good on the model and it doesn't look all that great on Vic. So I'm just left with the thought of, "Why?" "Nothing left in the closset?" "Not that high profile of an event so lets go ahead and get this dress out of rotation?" I guess the reasons are endless. LOL.
ردحذفIch habe befürchtet, dass mit dem Revival des Modestils der 80er auch Senfgelb zurückkommen wird. Aber so schnell!? Sparsam eingesetzt, ist es eine Farbe, die man durchaus tragen kann. Zu dem obigen Kleid passt sie aber irgendwie nicht. Es ist auch mehr ein Kleid, das "casual" ruft. Und es entfaltet seine fast japanische Anmutung, indem es locker fällt. Der mittlere Teil ist vom Designer wahrscheinlich nicht als Kummerbund gedacht. Bewundern muss ich bei Victoria aber, und das aus vollstem Modeherzen, dass sie sich etwas traut. Und ja, vielleicht hat sie jetzt so kurz nach der Sommerpause gedacht, Papa und ich präsentieren uns in den schwedischen Nationalfarben. Das ist dann doch wieder irgendwie auch süß. Für ein nächstes Mal würde ich das Kleid auf alle Fälle kürzen, dann könnte es ganz nett aussehen.

ردحذفFor me, the dress is ok-ish with potential. I do like the colour (a lot actually!), and I do like the style. But: it´s too much fabric (needs either shorter sleeves or shorter hem), the accessories are too monochromatic (maybe brown instead?), and I agree that it´s not styled right (it can´t be made a formal dress). Having said that, I do think that Victoria wears it better than the model. Even a casual dress can fit right and look structured. Casual doesn´t mean sloppy and shapeless. On the model, the dress looks like a sack (or monk´s habit if you will).
In the first picture (which was not displayed earlier), the dress looks better as she strides across the pavement.
