The Duchess of Cornwall named a new cruise ship in Dover

On July 5, 2019, The Duchess of Cornwall as Patron of The Silver Line, attended the naming and baptism ceremony of the Saga Group's new cruise ship in Dover. The Duchess of Cornwall named Saga's new cruise ship the 'Spirit Of Discovery'. The Duchess met with the crew of the newly named Spirit of Discovery. The Silver Line, a charitable association which works a helpline for older people. Camilla is also the honorary Comodore-in-chief of the Royal Navy Medical Service. The 236 metre ship holds 999 people and is the first ship to be named in Dover in more than a decade.

  1. PLEASE, someone take her to a good undergarments shop where they will measure her and guide her to purchase adequate brassieres.

    1. Agree and probably she has a bit to work on her posture as well. Unfortunately one is often reduced to his weaknesses and that is poor.

    2. I think it is thoroughly and very adequate for women not wanting to push one's breast to the highest point possible. This is basically true for all ages, but even more so in her age. And even more so if said breasts are not small. I think she has an admirable overall style and this dress is beautiful.

    3. What are you talking about ? Camilla,72, has a a natural big breast ... she does not
'resemble' the skinny models Mary and Kate, which one obviously should in order not to be criticized! The sunlight shadows does not benefit i pics, but it fits her and is nice in my optics/view!

    4. What’s wrong with her bra?

  2. I think the lace should've continued a bit higher because of where it ends it does make her look even more not lifted or supported.

  3. I love Camilla's hat;the total outfit is quite nautical, the detail on the dress is stylish. She will make a fantastic Queen.

    2. Yes it will. When Charles becomes King she will be the Queen Consort.

    1. Oh a surprising comment; as others said it quite nautical and stylish. But I share the comments about the need to get better bra's

  6. The hat is wonderful - interesting shape without a lot of decoration. I think the fit of the dress is slightly off, perhaps too big? But the design is lovely with the lace panel that accentuates the waist. I don’t think D. Camilla likes to wear anything tight, including undergarments, so our suggestions for a bra fitting will likely fall on deaf ears. Oh well. (V.M.)

  7. Strange dress but a nice colour and the hat is suitable for this occasion .

  8. O well, perhaps I'm one of few who loves the dress itself. The length is good, the colour very becoming on her, also nice combined with the hat. And the embroidery on front is great.
But unfortunately, like said before, the cut and fitting are bad and, like said before, she could really use better undergarments. And probably she could also wear other shoes instead of these ones...

    1. The more I looked at this dress, the more I liked it and appreciated its tailoring, especially in the 8th photo where I think the light is best. The skirt almost has a sculptural quality that's very nice. Totally agree about better undergarments; I think they would make such a positive difference.

  9. La duchesse a le corps d’une femme de 70 ans ,aux formes pleines ,et elle n’a pas attendu 03h08 pour savoir acheter ses sous vêtements.

  10. Rule of thumb: you nippiest should be half way between your shoulder and elbow. She looks adequately lifted to me.

    1. Thanks for a sort of measuring guideline! Looks sensible, however if you apply it to all the pictures under this heading, you can see she is at the limit or just below the benchmark. So I think she has indeed some room for improvement.

  11. I think she looks fine. I like the dress and think her bosom is pretty much where I would expect it to be for a woman of her age.

Her undergarments will most likely come from Rigby and Peller who are among the best bespoke bra fitters. I'm guessing she wears her underwear the way it feels comfortable for her.

    2. I absolutely agree, Franny. I am usually very critical when it comes to fitting. This dress looks gorgeous and fits and suits the duchess very well. I like the navy blue and prefer it over the pastel colours she often wears. Camilla wears best quality fabrics. Most of her dresses are customized. I am sure that she has the best supply for good qaulity under garments. The only thing I would tell her. As a tall and rather heavy busted woman, stand straight and take the shoulders back.

The dress is perfectly completed by the hat, purse and shoes. There are only one or two little details, I would change. The lace should have started one or two inches higher and ended one or two inches lower. Like this the middle part would have been better moulded. But minor complaint.

I can't help but I think some of the comments above are over critical and almost body-shaming concerning older women. Some people obviously never get over Camillas and Charles history. Let them be. These two were meant for each other. Camilla is the best support Charles could ever ask for. She is a smart, caring and beautiful woman who gets even more beautiful with age.

  13. Although I prefer her in brighter colours, like the beautiful bright blue she wore in Swansea earlier in the week, I rather like this dress. I agree that sometimes, Camilla seems to wear poorly fitting undergarments but don’t think it’s the case today. I do think she could do with a greater variety of shoes but overall it’s a good outfit. I also really like the white/black and silver patterned dresses of the ladies behind her in photos 6 and 7

  14. Dss. Camilla's dress looks very lovely on her also the hat. I have not seen her wear this 3 strand pearl necklace in a long while, it looks great.

  15. Moggi:
She seems relaxed and comfortable in hats, and it is easy to understand why, she wears them well and there has been some pretty ones recently.
