Queen Elizabeth opened the new Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge

On July 9, 2019, Queen Elizabeth visited Cambridge city. The Queen firstly visited NIAB (The National Institute of Agricultural Botany) and planted a tree there. NIAB is a plant science research company based in Cambridge. The Queen then visited Queen’s College. Afterwards, The Queen officially opened the new Royal Papworth Hospital, accompanied by The Duchess of Gloucester. During her visit to the new hospital, The Queen met with staff and patients and in addition, she saw some of the state-of-the-art facilities at the world-leading heart and lung hospital.

  2. There is a run for pink outfits this week 😁
The Queen looks nice and elegant as always. Fun to see her without coat outside, I can't remember I've seen that before ;-) Dress is good too.

I agree with you, the Queen looks great as always but it was refreshing see her without the coat, I would just love more if she also take the gloves.

  3. She always looks fresh and nice. I'd love a peek at her closet, she must have hundreds of outfits well put together.

  6. Interesting that she changed her shoes when she took her coat off... perhaps they were muddy.

  8. Die Dame rechts von der Königin auf Foto Nr.16 habe ich in der Vergangenheit häufiger neben Elizabeth gesehen. Ist das ihre Lady-in-waiting?

    1. Sorry, Anonymous (Elisabeth) at 11.22PM: But this Lady is not! the Duchess of Gloucester. As you can see on Twitter by the Royals, the Duchess of Gloucester wore a light grey coat and a grey little hat today (she had glasses on as well), when she travelled with the Queen.

  10. Full marks for style, colour and temerity: Hat (lovely colour, green feathers and summer flowers), coat, dress, brooch and shoes. Perfection! (And she planted a tree too. How many 93yo do you see doing that?)

  11. She looks so genuinely happy to be participating in this event. The pink outfit is delightful, even the little trim on the dress matches the coat. Nothing is ever left to chance is it? (V.M.)

  13. Her Majesty looks lovely always so bright and cheery. The particular pink is so bright and lovely. I like the black shoe with the stirrup detail. I wonder how many trees she has planted in her life?
