    I like her Frisode style.
Furisode are kimono with longer sleeves (85cm – 105cm) than regular kimonos. Furisode are also distinguished by their brightly colored, lovely patterns.
They are worn by single women only.

    1. I agree. It is rather sad that such a young lady has to dress like that. She knows she is not dressing for her age or in a fashionable way. Maybe she and her sister would smile more if they were not confined to this strict, antiquated style of dress, but allowed to express themselves.

Très joli bleu dans ce tailleur qu'elle porte à ravir... Superbe avec les cheveux lâchés délicatement lissés !!!

Mako seems like their go to representative for Southern American. She looks elegant all throughout

Nice to see Pss. Mako in stronger colors than alway's pastel. The royal blue blazer looks great on her. The Kimono is fantastic. Lovely Pss.

The kimono outfit is gorgeous. The colour looks like a soft green - whatever it is it’s beautiful on P. Mako. Of the two western outfits I much prefer the first one with the bright blue jacket. She wears a strong colour like this very well. The pale blue and white ensemble looks a bit insipid in comparison. There’s no doubt that the younger royals dress in a very predictable, mature style, but perhaps they don’t mind it. It’s their working uniform, much like a suit and tie for a man. (V.M.)

Princess Mako is a very modern intelligent young lady. Her choice of outfits are nice and respectful;the colours are good. On the world stage she is one to watch.

  11. I love the kimono and I quite like the outfit with the brighter royal blue and sleeker tailoring.

I really find the pale blue outfit pretty awful - on the one hand I find it frumpy and therefore, aging; at the same time it's quite infantile with that hat - that style reminds me of the uniform of very traditional girls' schools.

It’s a pity Japan will lose such a fine representative if and when she gets married.
