| Belgian King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are making a 2 day official visit to Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt states of Germany on July 9-10. On July 9, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde arrived at Erfurt-Weimar airport in Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia. The King and the Queen were welcomed by Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow and his wife Germana Alberti vom Hofe at airport. The King and the Queen will visit Gotha city and the former Nazi concentration camp Buchenwald. |
This is a great look for Queen Mathilde. Clean lines, no belt, and pleasant shade of blue. I would love to see a close up of her brooch--looks like a dragonfly.

I love the color of the outfit, but something seems "off" about the whole ensemble. I don't like the hat which should be more significant - or left off. It seems to be just plunked on her head. The half-cape is an odd thing from the back. The dress is especially tight around her hips so that her stomach is emphasized and she looks like she is packed into it from the rear view. Rarely does a dress just fit her easily and comfortably. They're always tight.
ردحذف@KH, thank you, that is exactly. what I am thinking. I am sorry for Queen Mathilde. She is, I am sure, a lovely lady, insight and out. But she cannot dress to her best advantage. With all the money and opportunities she could do so much better. I do like her hair this time and the brooch.

ردحذفI love this outfit on her. A very light shade of blue as to not overwhelm. The way she's wearing her hat in a jaunty sideways view gives us a chance to see her hair. Usually it's loose and sometimes a bit unmanageable but here her hair is in a chignon, gently swept up and her hat flatters it. Yes, the brooch does look like a dragonfly. Very unusual.

ردحذفLove the hat, the hair, the brooch, the colour of the dress, the gloves, bag and shoes. Oh, and the colour co-ordination with the King’s tie. However, agree with KH and Hedy that the dress is too tight. It gives her a protruding stomach and the back view also looks too tight. Not sure of the half cape either. Even a full cape top to a dress can look restricting and the back view with wings is just odd. However, the Queen herself is just lovely.
ردحذفI love the colours and how well they coordinate, but the dress is just a bit too tight. This happens too often with Q. Mathilde’s clothes. Where are the tailors? Clothes should skim the body not cling and pull. (V.M.)
