The dress of countess Sophie is perfect for her. Princess Eugenie looks a bit as if she was wearing a sheet of plastics IMO.
ردحذفEugenie's dress is so beautiful -- but imo the abbreviated slip (or underskirt, or lining -- ?) underneath does it no favors; why not wear a slip that matches the dress's length? I will be delighted when the trend of wearing shorter slips or linings beneath longer, semi-sheer dresses goes away.

Ha ha ha! But compare Eugenie's dress to the model who wears it. Luckily Eugenie has a belt on. On the model it really looks like a shower curtain.

ردحذفI like Eugenie's dress very much. She is dressing for her age and not getting caught up in the (unspoken) boring, stuffy BRF code of dress. For those that don't know, she didn't wear a slip that is too short. The lining is deliberately shorter. That is the reason the top layer is sheer--to allow the lining to show. I don't necessarily care for the metallic during the day, but it is a small quibble. She looks great.
I like both appearances, only what I would have made different is longer slip to Eugenie´s dress. But both dresses look very nice indeed.
