  1. This is how you do floral and lace. She doesn’t look dowdy or overdressed for the event. Prefer Mary’s styling and fit to the model’s.

  5. I´ll go against the mainstream here. To me, the overall impression of this dress is dangerously close to nightgown-territory. It´s the small floral print combined with the colour scheme. I wonder if a proper belt in a contrasting colour had made a difference, both to make it a bit more formal and to break up that uniform wall of fabric.
Also, it´s not what I would chose for a dinner. It´s more a garden party type of dress, imo, best combined with flats or sandals, and a large sun hat.
And speaking of shoes, I don´t think those peep-toe pumps are especially flattering. At the very least, they are too small for her, toes are sticking out.

    1. I agree about the shoes. They are awful - she is walking on tiptoe and the toes are naturally going out of the shoe. How high are these heels? What are women thinking?! This style is ridiculous IMO

  9. Love love love the dress but it looks like Mary is wearing a knee-length slip underneath, rather than one matching the length of the dress -- which seems to have become an "on trend" thing now, but imo it badly harms the look of a semi-sheer dress.
