The British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association (BBSA) held a gala dinner to celebrate the success of the 4-man bobsleigh team who competed in the Sochi Olympics and to raise funds for the youth and paralympic sections of sports. The Countess of Wessex attended that gala dinner held at the Boisdale Club in Canary Wharf, London, as the guest of honour. The Countess wore a navy blue dress by Azzedine Alaia. The Countess wore the same dress at the wedding of Princess Eugenie in 2018. |
The black dress is too strict for her in these days.
ReplyDeleteIf it is the exact same dress she wore to Eugenie's wedding, it is navy blue not black. It may be hard to tell in these pictures. Maybe she ordered it in black too, but I would doubt it.
DeleteI think Sophie looks great in this dress.
Sehr schick.
ReplyDeleteMaryT, I am not sure what you mean with "too strict for her in these days", to me she looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI looked again, it is indeed dark blue, ok. How should I say it? I'll go for this one: the dress looks so much better on the model. I would rather see for her : brighter colour, shorter...
DeleteThe picture at the wedding gave a much better impression
Alaia dress fits her well. I like the fitting of this dress on her.
ReplyDeleteIt's too long
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautifully cut dress and I agree that it's navy not black but still think it is too long and a little drab. Perhaps some bright shoes and/or a bag?
ReplyDeleteLong sleeves would have made the dress better or well tones arms. Latizia can pull this look off very well.
DeleteNo, no long sleeves. She would have disappeared in that wall of dark fabric. The dress is already rather long on her. This design needs to breathe, so the short sleeves are necessary to make the dress look less heavy. Also, the scalloped edges of the sleeves echo the neckline so nicely, which wouldn´t work with long sleeves.
DeleteShe looks spot on.
ReplyDeleteLovely, very elegant.
