Dutch Royal Family attended 2019 King's Day Concert in Amersfoort

On the evening of April 15, 2019, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, Princess Beatrix, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien attended the annual King's Day (Koningsdag) concert at De Flint Theater in Amersfoort. The concert was attended by invited audiences that are involved in the organization of Koningsdag in Amersfoort. (Queen Maxima wore a bespoke dress by Claes Iversen). Every year, the concert is held in the county where the Dutch Royal Family will celebrate King’s Day. The King's Day concert traditionally takes place in the month preceding King's Day. The date of King's Day marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander, which is April 27.

It makes the dress, right? I agree!

    2. No, it's much too wide and utilitarian. It spoils the dress.

Nee, dass sieht nicht wirklich sensationell aus. Zum einen ist es der Gürtel, der zu groß ist, zum anderen aber auch Farbe und Schnitt des Kleides. Maxima, was ist los?
Beatrix sieht hier um einiges besser aus.

  4. Love the rich blue purple colour for Princess Beatrix and Laurentien's dress and shoes. Queen Maxima, I'm not sure. I wish the dress was darker or brighter at least, I wish her hair was up as it was when she wore the dress previously I'm not at all sure about the belt aand I don't like the shoes with their ugly (though fashionable) heel. Laurentien's my winner here

I love love love her dress with belt. Shoes don't go with this dress. Should have worn silver stilettos.

  9. Wrong belt and too heavy looking shoes for the evening light dress.

  10. This is a terrible dress, this ballerina look can only be pulled by a child, the enormous belt makes it worse, the shoes are a mix of trendy and granny, and the shiny hose is just unfortunate. I wish I could say that even if the outfit is unflattering she can pull it off, but not this time.

  11. La mode de ces escarpins à gros talons n’est pas élégante, cela va pour les chaussures basses comme celles de la princesse Béatrix mais pas pour les chaussures très hautes . Évidemment cela doit être plus stable pour marcher.

  14. A practical question: such a concert surely lasts about three hours or so. How can one sit with such a broad belt around the body for such a long time? Or does one put the belt off while sitting?

In München oponion, the shoes are not the problem. She can wear them very well together with the dress...but in case there would have been necessary another, much more minimalistic belt.

Los zapatos, el peinado, el cinturon, estropean el vestido.

This is a very nice dress on Maxima, but the accessories don't work. The shoes don't go well with the fabric or style of the dress; the belt leaves something to be desired as well. For once, I like Laurentien's ensemble better. Maxima seems to have been off her game for some time now.

  19. If shoes are a central point here, I prefer the Maxima shoes, rather than those of Lauretien. I see also a difference between the Maxima belt and the one worn by the model; again I prefer the one of Maxima again.

As for the outfit of Queen Maxima I am not the same opinion. I like the dress, the shoes are ok too. I think that another belt, simpler and less impractical, would have made the outfit look better. It is also true that this is not the best choice of the Dutch Queen, she can do much better, which she has proven countless make.

Oh dear Maxima. Even Laurentien who rarely makes it for me is better dressed. The belt, the shoes...just no.

that's true. The bra may be suitable for leisure or private. However not to such a dress and an official occasion.
The hair of Queen Maximas often looks a bit "uncombed". On festive occasions, she always wears perfect hairstyles.
Princess Beatrixes hair is always perfect, I have to say it honestly

  24. Whilst I wound't be able to wear such a wide belt, it is clearly how the dress was design and I think it looks just fin on Maxima. I like the length and fuller skirt on her dress better than the original design as seen on the model. She wins the day for me.

  25. Maxima just needs a stylist. Period. The original dress looks so much better. Altering it that much should tell her to get a different dress. The belt and shoes are clunky. I get the heel, then I see the front of the shoe and I don't like it. I assume she is wearing a fit and flair to emphasize her waist, but I don't think this look is working for her.
