Duchess of Cambridge visited the Henry Fawcett Children's Centre

On March 12, The, Duchess of Cambridge visited the Henry Fawcett Children's Centre in London for the purpose of receiving more information about the work being done by local organisations in Lambeth and their partners to support young children and their families. The Duchess of Cambridge joined parents and their toddlers taking part in a 'Together Time' session offered by Leap Lambeth and PAIRS, which is designed to support parents’ ability to understand their child’s cues and feel more confident in their parenting. 2. Interesting how the blouse color shifts from photo to photo. I'm just not a fan of these pussy bows but I do like purple/pink tones on Catherine.

  3. Nice and refreshing, something new and different. Love the blouse with the bow and the colour suits her very much, it's lovely on her.
The pants look too long from what I can see on the pictures. I would've loved to see it with a pencil skirt!

    1. It would work with a pencil skirt but might have been a bit office wear for this outing - the trousers are a better option for getting down with the children. I'm surprised none grabbed the bow.

    2. Yes, a pencil skirt wouldn't have been the best choice for playing around with children.
I meant it more in an overall look. And who knows... perhaps the kids tried to grab the bow off-camera! ;-)

She has a phenomenal figure and legs for days so she can actually make high waisted flared trousers work. The top would have been a disaster but her perfect styling saves it and makes it look good. Her handbag game is also getting stronger.

    Schöne Bluse. Schöne Fotos.
Sehe Catherine aber am liebsten in Kleidern oder Röcken.

Great color of this blouse, Kate looks good. Only the pant is too long.

  10. Not a good outfit for the duchess. This baggy outfit makes Her look too skinny. Like she's fadding away. Love the blouse's color though.

Glad to see her in some pants (that aren't skin tight) for a change but - and this could just be from the photo provided - it seems these aren't fitting her the best. A bit too long and the wide-leg a bit too wide for Kate. But again, glad to see some tailored pants!

  12. She looks very relaxed and happy with children, her outfit is ok, i like the colors but the bow blouse is too granny, but glad she choose to wear pants for this ocassion.

  13. Our youthful Duchess is back! Kate looks amazing! Love the color of the blouse, and the pussy bow is on trend yet classic. The wide leg pants are perfectly paired with the blouse, and are a nice departure from her usual look. I am glad to see her wear them again. Finally, a nice change of color with her bag to add some interest and keep this look less formal.

    1. You took the words out of my mouth, so to speak😄 I like her so much better when she dresses age appropriate, and somewhat trendy. I am not crazy about the pussy bow, only because it takes me back to my mother's cousins :-) but it does work on this instance, giving a little formality to the perfect pants.
      Lovely!!!!

  14. I enjoy seeing her in trousers for a change. Nice cut as well. She looks great.
With that bow blouse and her trademark blowout though she ended up looking like straight from Charlie´s angels.

Wow. Wow. Wow finally an outfit that is amazing, elegant and the best : it makes her look so young, dynamic and fresh. Would see more and more of that and not her typical and sometimes oldfashioned dresses. She is looking so much younger here. Nice to See! Please Duchess Catherine show us more like this

  16. Great style, the Duchess comes across full of enery and very likeable. She is approachable,open-minded and happy - this is a good social setting for her.

  17. I love the outfit. It is a lovely change. Someone said she looks too thin in the pants. Catherine is thin. Always. Is is her build.

Before I begin this I want to ask that there be NO ugly comments. I am not chosing a side. I like Catherine and Meghan. They are individuals and I like that they are not cookie cutter versions of each other.
Maybe it just me but I see a huge change in Catherines confidence and style since Meghan came along. I first noticed upon her return after maternity leave with PL. Maybe she has just hit her stride and the family is where she wanted it to be ~ 3 kids. However, I think Catherine is more smiley, seems more talkative with crowds, more affection is being publicly seen with DoC. Her style is bolder! She is carrying purses versus clutches. She never wears pants on a work day UNLESS she is going to be doing something sporty or ONE time recently in a hangar. She when wore a dress to the air show when PG was 3. Climbing in and out of planes. Odd. But she was ...working.
I think that she feels more confident due to Meghan in some part. She sees her confidence and that can help build a person. Catherine is a reticent soul by nature and Meghan is more extroverted but Catherine seems so "alive' of late.
When I saw her in the pants today I really kind of gasped as she just doesn't wear them when working. Yes she was on the floor with little ones but she goes down on the floor in her dresses usually. She will be Queen and I think that she will always be a little more cautious ...and should ...Queen. I just think she seems a little more 'sassy' and more KATE lately. She can be Queen in waiting and Queen one day and still be KATE. Personally I think Meghan has pushed her into this new Catherine. Not physically. I just think when you find yourself around someone or those with such confidence and grit it cannot help but rub off on you.
Lastly I am NOT saying Catherine is trying to rev it up out of competition. Many say that and that is ridiculous. I just think her eyes have opened to some things ...and she likes it.

Rambling. I hate typing on my cell as I can only see what I am actually typing. So apologies for grammar, syntax, and rambling thoughts. I will blame it in my vascular dementia (co worker 30 yrs younger always teases me that I have dementia- unfortunately I cannot remember her name anymore 🤣🤣🤣) kidding

You expressed yourself and your views well Diane and absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I don't necessarily see the sartorial changes you observe in Catherine (to me she is still operating in the same, classic 'English Rose' style) though I will agree with you that she does seem to have a stronger confidence and demeanour since the birth of her last child. I also think that the arrival of Megan has had something to do with it, as well as the fact that she is now in a good place in her life with three kids and a happy family, and can now begin to focus more on other matters.
Megans presence means that Harry is now confidently and happily moving in a new direction away from his brother, leaving Catherine and her family to be their own unit and with the space for them to develop into the inevitable roles that will befall them for crown and country.
I even feel that Catherine may be grateful for the presence of the additional female family member close to her in age and function, and that barring any crazy eventualities, these two sisters-in-law could be very good for each other in the decades to come.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

    2. Diane I agree. I noticed the same after she wore that amazing Erdem dress last year. And even in repeat outfits like yesterday's redshe seems to be more comfortable in her skin. I think she's being herself and not a Catherine version of QE2. And it's quite possible that seeing how Meghan handles it or quite frankly they'll talk badly about you either way she's decided I'll just be myself!

      Delete
    3. I understand what you are saying, Diane, and I agree. I am hoping Kate has the confidence to be more "Kate" and less "QE2", while still being respectful of her role in the family. She made such a drastic change to her style after her marriage, and it would be nice to see her settle somewhere between Kate Middleton and the buttoned-up DoC she has become.

    4. I noticed as well, Diane. She almost never wore pants to official engagements, or it were skinny jeans. That's a difference I spotted immediately. And I agree, she looks more confident, more settled. I agree with your post and thanks for sharing it - I hope for no ugly reactions too!

    5. If there is such a change in Catherine, then I also think it has to do with the birth of her third child. But anyway she has grown more and more in her role as a future queen.
As for the Catherine-and-Meghan-topic I never understood why people automatically assume that there is rivalry. It is such a stereotype to believe that women always compete. It is possible that they are rivals, but it is also possible that they support each other. Like Anonymous 3:07 says, there is an additional female family member close to her in age. And they are both commoners, both have (or had) to learn the strict rules of the BRF.
If there are conflicts, is it not possible that these conflicts have to do with problems the two brothers have?

    6. I very much agree, Diane, and I have noticed the same thing but not expressed it as well as you have. And agree with replies to your post, as well. Coralie, good point about possible issues between the brothers and not the women. And periodic issues between siblings are normal.

Many times confidence comes from getting older, more experienced, having children, and other personal choices. I do not think Catherine's any perceived confidence is derived from Meghan's presence.

  19. Kate has worn Gucci twice recently. Gucci is the sponsor for the Martin Parr exhibit presently at the National Portrait Gallery. (He is known for his passion for pink.) Kate is the patron of the National Portrait Gallery. There could be a connection - the only other time I recall Kate wearing Gucci prior to her pink gown was also connected to an exhibition.

This last night at the gala, there were masses of fashionistas attending. I don't think they were there because of Shakespeare and the Plantagenets - although one could wonder if Kate's floral dress was a subtle tribute to broom - the Plantagenet heraldic symbol.

Whether there is a connection or not, the colour of this blouse is lovely on Kate.

  20. She is wearing the top the wrong way. The buttons are meant to be on her back. But gorgeous

Right. the pictures show, the blouse should be worn with the plain side at the front and the buttons on the back. THat explains the weird position of the cuffs.

Usually I love Kate’s outfits, but she really misses the boat with this one. The combination is nice, but it does not suit her thin frame. Maybe she could take some pants inspo from Letizia who also happens to have a thin frame.

With all do respect, Diane, I disagree, a teeny weeny bit. Kate was always a smiling, happy royal lady. Look at the photo's since she married William, laughing when talking with people, and expecially when she and William are in conversation, a lot of times, he will have her in stitches. He will almost have her "bringing the house down." And as for Harry, I LOVE, love it now that he almost looks like a serious man, where, before his marriage, he was often, like with children child dish. I also ask for patience for my grammar!
