I know, it is actually too crazy for words that you have a monarchy in a democracy. A select club that is favored on the basis of origin. Just because King WA was born in a certain crib. All those privileges and high benefits that the Dutch royals receive. If you think critically about it, it simply can not be justified. As long as people like the idea of the fairytale and actually believe that the Dutch economy truly benefit just because of having a monarchy it will keep on existing in it's current state.

    2. Expensive or not - somebody MUST be head of state.
In Holland or even the people in Sweden, Norway or Spain you get a charming family for your money, whose pictures deeply touch the hearts of their peoples.
Tourists come to your countries to see where and how the royal family lives.
We in Germany also have to pay a lot of money for our Federal President - but what do we get for it?
More or less ill-tempered old men with more or less dreadful suits, for which reason certainly no one travels to us ...

Very lovely Family. The girls are beautiful. Nice to see Pss Beatrix and Constanijn and his family. Sadly Mable and her girls did not join in, to much sad memories for her.Lech am Arlberg is fantastic. Love the mountains.

    1. Mabel and her kids were actually in Lech the last couple of days. But her daughters go to school in London, so they had to go back because school started again today and couldn't join the photo session
