    1. "Eigenstaendige" Frau??
Well, just a marvellous dress, I'd say... Although the earrings are nearly GP£7000,-, then the jewel encrusted, bespoke Dior kaftan (how much, please?) and the Dior clutch...
So: "Moderne Mode einer eigenstaendigen Frau" sounds a bit strange for the majority of women.

  2. What a beautiful dress! The colour is a bit pale for me, but I realise I'll be in the minority on this one! However the style, shape, sleeves, trim--it's fab. Again, like the gorgeous red dress from last night, its a great, elegant cut for a pregnant lady. Meghan's hair and make up are spot on. Not forgetting Prince Harry who looks fantastic in the dark suit and polished shoes! Great tour so far

  4. They are a stunningly elegant pair. Agree with AnnieM about Harry looking terrific. Meghan's gown is has a bit of a 70s designer feel. The sweeping angle drape from neckline to dropped sleeve is beautiful. Line actually starts from diamond earrings past neck to diamante sleeve edge.

Too bland a color and you can see every outline again. Plus she's walking in front of Harry (as per usual), shaking hands before he does (and then gently guiding him to do so as if he doesn't know what to do), she hands him her flowers & he passes them on yet again. Harry is the royal.

    1. Anonymous 7:05, normally I dislike when people write as "Anonymous" but I unterstand it in this case - there are some people here in this blog who will attack you for what you wrote, even if you are right.
(I must say I like her dress and hairstyle, I also like the elegant colour of the dress, but I agree about her inappropriate behaviour.)

Dear Coralie: I am one of the "Anonymous" posters because I choose not to be on Google any longer, and I'm not afraid of anything (I was contrary under Google as well). Let Hellen delete the "Anonymous" option yet again - fine with me. Also... the dear Duchess refused to eat some dates when their hosts offered them to her and Harry.

Anonymous Feb25 @ 4:00pm - hard to tell if you're agreeing with Coralie or with me, but that's fine.

      Thanks.

Another creative take on the traditional dress of the hosts. The top of the dress subtly mimics the drape of a headscarf. The jeweled beading prominent but not overdone. At this point there is no way to hide the size of her pregnancy. It shows. Harry looking more elegant at each outing. He obviously sees himself as her husband first, 'not a superior royal', and does the gentlemanly thing of letting ladies go first.

    2. I totally agree with your opinion, thank God for the 21st century where women can be treated as equals.
If we could only spread some kindness amongst ourselves......
Beautiful gown, what a great color, it brings the light of white without looking nuptial. I do enjoy seeing this couple, they act do naturally and engaging. I think the Crown is well represented.

    3. I totally agree with anonymous 12:31. This is 2019 and women should not be required to walk behind their husbands no matter what status. We are witnessing a new generation and it is wonderful to see.
The fashion choices on this trip for both have been perfect.

    4. It's not about women walking behind their husbands. In other cases the male husband of a queen walks behind his wife.
It's about the BRF in 2019 - a year of a lot of distress around brexit for example. In this times the british people want the represents of their monarchy and their tradition to behave as royals. Not as celebrities. No member of the BRF is a private person. They are funded by the people and so it is their job to behave in a way the people are content with.

    5. Coralie, are you an authority on how the British people want to be represented?, I think not. To opine about an entire country, which I suspect you aren't part of, is rather grandiose. You are entitled to your own opinion no matter what, as I am to mine, but this is a fashion blog and you seem to often mistake it as a forum for you to expose your socio/political agenda... please read a little about protocol and monarchies in general.

    6. Coralie, I suspect that Prince Philip would be the first person to disagree with you. To the dismay of many, he has been known to be very vocal about such things. It is actually something I like about him. No one would mistake who is the monarch between the two, but he has always has to walk behind the Queen. The monarchy is modernizing, and should to stay relevant. How lovely to see a royal husband publically show affection for his wife and guide her through engagements. We all see what we want to see. You see someone who wants to remain a celebrity and always will. That is a very narrow view.

    8. CherryBlossom, one does not have to be "grandiose" to read british newspapers. Even more informative than the articles in these newspapers are the comments of the readers.

    9. The "royal husband" issue is delicate. It shows her "star habits", not fitting here in my view.

    10. Anonymous26/2/19 12:54

It is Harry himself who broke the mold for royal brides and invited the 'celebrity' into their midst. He knows that with every child his brother produces he is pushed further away from the throne so what is he left with, but to adapt to whatever job is assigned to him by grandma. What does he really have to offer Meghan other than his lineage and a house on his grandmother's estate? Being royal is intangible. It 'entitles' a person to the best of this or that, but it can be all taken away by the people. All credit to him, he treats her as a wife not as a vassal. Meghan we know graduated from a good college, worked in the diplomatic corps and in television, and came with her own money. We learned that she has even taken the time to learn french recently, which Harry does not speak. She is his choice and it is necessary to be supportive of him instead of making him feel that he did something wrong. The trick is to have someone in your life who looks at you the way he looks at her. Coralie there is hype created by the press to get sales and the actual facts. Please decipher.

Anon 3:54, I agree with some of what you say. Harry has "broken the mold" several times. Some for the better and some not (wearing a swastika for a party among them). Time will tell whether his choice for a wife was wise or not.

      Delete
    13. Anonymous27/2/19 11:44

The swastika incident over five years ago was an immature gesture. Churning the low points of his life to make him feel uncomfortable does not help him to move forward. Life is about learning and making certain achievements in each decade, including marrying and establishing a family. He is clearly trying to do this. Whatever time brings, their chemistry belongs to, and deserves to be enjoyed by them. If we are honest, they have not committed any faux pas in their institutional work.

    15. When bringing up Harry's past, I think it is important to keep in mind that he had not dealt with the death of his mother. He has been forthcoming about that in recent years, since getting help and advocating for mental health awareness. No one wants to be judged on the behavior of their youth especially when there is an underlying cause. It is best to move forward and look at the man he is today.

As for Meghan, I think there is a misconception about her level of "celebrity", as it is continually referred to here. Meghan was hardly a household name. The show she was on, Suits, was not on a major network. It was on a cable channel. It was a good show, but many, if not most, people had never even heard of it or her. It was only when she started dating Harry that she became well-known. Comments that she is trying to keep her "celebrity status" or "stay in the spotlight" can only be coming from people that are not well-versed in this matter. There are scads of people that have been on a television show that never do another thing again. We will never know how Meghan's career would have progressed now, but she was not the type of person she has been made out to have been. She was still on her way up. As for the people she knows, many people are friends with well-known people and they are not celebrities themselves. When you get right down to it, we are all just people. Maybe that will help put things in some perspective regarding Meghan.
