@ Gabriella, EXACTLY what I was thinking. Sometimes she has bigger and sometime smaller.
Maybe the color of the dress makes the difference in look. When I was pregnant every month I was bigger and bigger ... never smaller.

    2. gabriella, exactly my thought... Everything is possible today.
The shoes are a fashion-fail for me. Better for a cocktail party. January in London and pregnant, maybe not the best choice for a future Mum.
Queen Letizia showed a ZARA jacket yesterday beautifully and for small budget, Duchess Meghan wears Oscar de la Renta to help unemployed and vulnerable women. Right...

The Duchess is a beautiful pregnant lady, but you are right on these fotos her motherhood is almost hidden.

I don't know what you guys are talking about! I can see her bump just fine and it does appear slightly larger than the last time we saw her. I'm going to assume the color of the dress is doing trick that it has always done - i.e. black makes a person appear slimmer. HELLO!!! This is the main reason there is a lot of black clothes in my closet. It's not that I love the color so much but when something makes you look 5-10 pounds slimmer on one of those "special days" of the month when you're the most bloated and retaining water it's the thing you wear. I think she looks great and neat and tidy. The only thing I would have changed; bolder jewelry. I think more substantial plain gold huggie-hoops for earrings and perhaps even a necklace or scarf to add more interest to that plain black dress. Bot other than that, fabulous.

Ah the difference between wearing non maternity vs. maternity clothes at her stage of the pregnancy. Just going up in size (especially in tailored dresses) adds weight all over,

What distinguishes the Duchess from other pregnant women is her delicate face and petite silhouette. She looks fresh and healthy.

Yes, Rainha. Also, Letizia's jacket was not even new. She has worn it in the past. Letizia knows how to look great and has consistently (for the past several years) been one Queen who does not spend the most on her wardrobe compared to other royals who are not even queens.

    9. Daily Mail has many pics and some show her "bump". Wearing black always hides a person's shape. That is why women who need to lose pounds wear black to camouflage their shape. She is carrying her baby very high. Isn't the old wive's tale that you carry a girl high and a boy low? Or is it the other way around? I had a boy, and I carried him very low!

Black colour always makes everything smaller. That's why she looks so thin in this black dress.

    11. She is wearing black which the eye of the camera sometimes has difficulty showing detail. That a woman should ask where's her bump when we all know she is pregnant is incomprehensible. Those shoes are owned by Queen Maxima in several colours and worn to everyday events like this.

I like the maternity dress, this is something I could see myself wearing/buying. I do think it’s a little tone deaf to be wearing such an expensive coat 3000$ usd (and it doesn’t even fit well at that) and purse 2000$ usd, to a meeting that helps long-term unemployed women. I even like the shoes but maybe to a cocktail party and not a business meeting.

Oh please. There is nothing about her outfit that screams ostentation. It is about as low key as you can get. Stylish and chic, but that's about all. She's not there to show off. I'll bet that if names and numbers were not thrown out about what she was wearing you'd have no idea about their price, so enough about how much her outfits cost in relation to 'helping long-term unemployed women' or 'don't need to wear expensive clothes. Out of reality'. What would you have liked her to wear? Old Navy? I can just imagine your comments if she did.
I'm willing to bet that no one present at the meeting gave a thought to how much her outfit cost in relation to their own circumstances, but instead were happy and honoured to have a neatly dressed, stylish and genuinely caring person listening to them and helping them out. They'd rather have someone who cared enough to wear her best to visit them than someone nonchalant in her appearance.

  15. Love me those shoes!! What a smart way to elevate a simple black dress, perfectly chic. Sometimes I wish that she would add a brooch, pin, or bracelet to bring a little light to the dark colors, but I guess just like Letizia she is very minimalist. The earrings are very original and current. I don't understand the comments about the bump, I can see it perfectly, of course if you are photographed from the front while wearing black, chances are that you won't see the silhouette, right? Don't understand all these comments about it, sounds just like men talking nonsense😂

    1. Consider the source. The first person to make the comment about Meghan's bump usually has negative things to say.

I love Meghan's shoes as well. That is the beauty of having a basic black dress. It becomes a canvass for anything. I do not agree with the comments suggesting the shoes are cocktail attire. I think they are daytime appropriate. Her earrings work perfectly since the dress is so simple and it plays to her minimalist style, being the only jewelry she is wearing. The coat is beautiful, both in style and color.

  16. She looks nice and happy. The dress shows her beautiful figure and bump very well, it suits her. Nice to see her again! She looks warm and interested in what she does. Good job.
I do not like the shoes though and also think her hair is too straight pulled back.

It’s funny because I was thinking that same thing: her hair is too tightly pulled back. I actually like much better Megan’s ‘messy bun’. I think it frames her face nicely and doesn’t even compare to the mess of Kate big waves that are constantly in her face. But then there are so many that hate Megsn’s bun... that I am happy not to have to read those repeated comments again. I will take that win.

I am not a huge fan of these huge swing coats. The earnings are original, for sure. The shoes are at least 4 years old (she had them before even meeting Harry) and they add interest to the outfit. Not something I would ever choose for myself, but that’s irrelevant.

If Kate's waves were always in her face we would not be able to see her, nor could she see very well. But I have noticed that I can see her face at every engagement.

  17. Love the shoes and the earrings. The coat is one of the better ones she's worn I think though it looks far too big for her. In the 10th pic, in front of the car it hangs beautifully form the shoulders--similarly in the first pic where she is sitting down. I can forgive the inevitable black dress at this stage of pregnancy as it minimises the bump. I like the dress worn by the blonde lady who greets her when she arrives

The earrings are nice but the style is not appropriate for a duchess in my opinion. And wearing no toghts in the cold winter is a kind of mocking all hard working women who have no opportunity to enjoy a limousine-lifestyle like her. She has the wrong mindset. It is not all about breaking royal dressing rules.

There has been something that has not set right with me regarding many of her fashion choices. You summed it up...it should not be about breaking royal dress. The Queen has set a standard all these years for dress, work, etc. That is why she is respected by so many. A higher standard has been there.

  28. I find it very peculiar that most of the trolling, judgmental, and somewhat ridiculous comments are anonymous.
I do enjoy reading educated debates, without all this personal biases, but I guess these are the sites where people get on their high horses, and get on the pulpit of their superior morality. All royals spend an incredible amount of money in clothing, luxury and confort, as well as politicians do where there is no monarchy, but I guess that people would feel much better if they would appear to be frugal when in public.
So not wearing tights ( like thousands of younger women do nowadays) is a mockery to the less privileged... that is possibly the most outrageous statement I've seen this week.
Please, stop all these character attacks it's just not right.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why not to spend money on high designer clothing or whatever else if you can afford .
Everybody likes to see royals look beautiful and elegant but unfortunately you can not look good in cheap things. It is big difference between Chanel and Target We all know that.
