The Duchess of Cambridge visited Family Action’s Lewisham base

On January 22, 2019, The Duchess of Cambridge visited Family Action’s Lewisham base which provides a range of valuable community support for children and families in South London. The purpose of the visit was to launch a new national support line. Family Action will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its establishment in 2019. The organization works directly with vulnerable children and families through nearly 150 local and national services, as well as supporting professionals and organisations through training and consultancy. Their new service ‘FamilyLine’ uses a network of volunteers from across the country for the purpose of supporting parents and carers virtually through telephone calls, email and text messaging.

  1. I like the color and design very much, but the upper part of the sleeves is poor fit.

    1. You are right as for the poor fit of the sleeves. But I think she looks gorgeous anyway! I also like the other Beulah-dress shown in the advertisement.

    3. fantastic outfit, I like it a lot, Kate looks wonderful in it.

For my taste, the sleeves are ok :-)

Kate knows how to do :-)

  2. It isn't poor fit, it's just the way the sleeves are made, which is actually not nice. I wonder why she and everybody else are outside without a coat

    1. OMG! That's awful. Difficult to believe...

    2. You are mistaken. No one would do that.

    3. I do not believe that she has knee stockings, it's only shadow making tricks. I am pretty sure that knee stockings are not very popular among royals😉. I like her dress very much, especially the color.

    5. I watched the video of the Duchess. I am pretty sure it is only a shadow. If you look at the pic in full size you can't see the sharp edge of a possible stocking. Btw the Duchess is very keen on thighs. I really like her dress. Maybe I am the only one but I like these sleeves much more than the ones on the model.

    6. It must be shadow. Nobody in the right mind would wear something like that !

    7. You can see a shadow on the bottom of the dress also.

  5. I miss the sleeve as worn by the model. Just rounds the dress off much better... Overall I love the look.

  6. She has excellent taste no matter what..I normally don't like when people idolize her, but she truly looks good almost every time we see her. There are some outfits or hairstyles that are unfortunate choices but all in all she is perfect to be a duchess and the future queen consort. She maganed to be like "the girl next door" and a bit shy but cheerful, nothing fake or too much kindness and smilyes. She is natural. These are of course just impressions through photos and videos.

  9. Kate is wearing a bespoke version of Beulah's Yahvi dress, which I understand they are making the dress available for purchase today. "The brand explains their mission to 'provide an alternative livelihood and new life to victims trafficked into the sex trade who have been rescued.'" Furthermore, Beulah London adds that every purchase 'supports and empowers society’s most vulnerable women.'"

Kate looks wonderful here. I love the color on her. I like both versions of the dress. I do wish she would take more risks, like wearing a bolder shoe instead of a monochromatic look.

    1. Yes, you are right chardonn8r, why not to wear shoes like the model has? For ex. queen Letizia has always very bold and amazing shoes. Court shoes are so boring.

  10. I like the version on the model. But Kate got rid of the sleeves (which I think are the most interesting design feature and give the dress balance and flair), she covered the folds at the neckline with her hair thus getting rid of another design detail. She added a dull belt that does nothing for the dress and instead obscures the well-cut waist and distracts from the cute row of buttons running along the front of the skirt.
Great dress, but total styling failure, unfortunately.

  11. Suede shoes and suede bag are good accessories to that dress.

  12. Agree with Vanessa, I absolutely love this dress on it's original form, altering the sleeves takes away that touch of originality, nevertheless the color and flair it's very flattering. The outfit could have been elevated adding more interesting shoes, and maybe a ponytail to show the neckline. Catherine's hair looks healthy and lustrous, but I think she is in need of a good trim, it's getting too heavy, and it makes her head looks rather large, specially since she has a very narrow frame. Needless to say she still manages to look lovely!

    1. Agree with you, Cherry Blossom and Vanessa, the alternations killed the look. Absolutely no belt needed. And no @Anonymous 4:47, suede pumps are not a good choice with this dress, it needs shoes with a more distinct edgy look. Catherine tends to play safe with these omnipresent suede pumps. It get's predictable and boring.
