I am not spanish (but I love Spain), but I think this outfit has a "Carmen"- or "Flamenco"-vibe, hasn't it? She looks great!

Not true, Flamenco music and dance is not only popular in Andalucía, a large part of the population enjoys this type of art, obviously nowadays the younger generation not so much, but alas that happens in every country, as we all have become more global, not only in music and traditional folklore but fashion as well.

Flamenco is no only in Andalucia, is a part of our culture wether you like it or not. In fact the best academies of flamenco( cante jondo and dancing) are not only in Andalucia,also inCataluña and Madrid.

حذفI think she is beautiful. It is possible to have radiant, youthful looking skin by using excellent skincare. We know she takes care of her body by working out. It is not too much of a stretch to think she takes excellent care of her skin as well.

ردحذفOh wow... now this is a surprise. I didn't think I'd see these two wear each others dresses but they did and looking very good! Both ladies look very nice wearing the same dress nearly 40 years apart. I like Letizia's curls. Suits her well.

lol! That would be K and M's grandmother-in-law, not even mother. Other than jewellery, I doubt they'd find anything in her closet to interest them. (Unless a very chic couture evening gown from 50+ years ago is lurking somewhere in the back, but I don't think she used many (if any) famous name designers way back then, other than Hartnell or Kelly.)

حذفI can totally Kate or Meghan look stellar in some of The queen’s gowns. They were stellar looking with intricate beading. Each of them were masterpieces. Kate will also look good in some of the lacy dresses and coats

ردحذفI personally don't like this dress at all, in 1980 or today, that being said and considering the decade, I like it better on Sofía, maybe because she accessorized it better by breaking all that red, although the jewelry it's not my favorite, I must say that the belt and shoes area good choice on her part. The gesture is nice and possibly conciliatory, so I give Letizia an A for effort, and for the gorgeous earrings and lovely hair.

ردحذفRed is always a good idea for Letizia . Q Sofia wore this dress beautifully with accessory . In 1980 Sofia was 40 years old I think same age as her husband.

Queen Sophia looks beautiful in this red dress. And her smile in the photo is amazing... I think the dress suits her better than on Letizia...
ردحذفThis dress may have been the inspiration for the pink Varela of National Day. The idea may be to start some tradition during the festive season, but today's red dress is a No. Both this and the last dress from Sofia's closet look dated and belong in the year they were worn. QL looks thin and the puffy sleeves are loose. The skirt is too wide and too long. It's a fine thing to pay homage to Sofia but her creative twist to her outfits and her personality disappears in these clothes. The skirt may be salvageable with a black top attached to it like the Varela, and worn with the thin red belt and some chunky jewelry. Other than that the young consort doing reverences to the older consort....
