Princess Eugenie's evening dress was designed by Zac Posen. Mr Posen was inspired by the beauty of Windsor and the surrounding countryside. The choice of colour reflects the blush of an English rose. Mr Posen took his inspiration from the White Rose of York. The pin-tucked plissé is cut on the bias and mixed with signature drapes. The White Rose of York is subtlety embroidered on both the shoulder and back which hold together the cape. The silk for the gown comes from Biddle Sawyer Silk.

Princess Eugenie is wearing diamond and emerald drop earrings which were a Wedding gift from the Groom. Princess Eugenie also wore a hair slide belonging to Her Majesty The Queen. Queen Victoria’s Wheat-Ear Brooches were originally commissioned by William IV in 1830 for Queen Adelaide. They were passed down to Queen Victoria in 1837, and eventually to The Queen in 1952. Her Majesty has worn them as both hair slides and brooches.

  1. While it must be a nightmare for any photographer trying to get 8 small children to smile, they all look exceptionally miserable in the first photo. The Queen & Duke look great though as do the still beaming bride and groom. Sarah's hat looks better at an angle. In the second photo at least Savannah & the Cambridgeshire are grinning nicely. Young Mia is not for cheering up. 😂
Not sure about Eugenie's evening dress. Nice colour and fabric but I don't like the high neck. Perhaps the light has reflected badly on it but it doesn't look flattering

    1. Mia seems to take her 'work' very seriously :-) I like her a lot, she's gorgeous :-)

I think, you are right about Fergies hat, Annie.

I think, Queen and Philip look fantastic <3 <3

I really don't like Eugenies Evening dress, it's not a bridal dress and the shape does nothing good for her.

  2. Eugenie looked stunning. We might see fewer brides wearing veils in future. I noticed the future Duchess of L’Alba didn’t wear a veil, and she, too, looked beautiful. I don’t think photos of her recent marriage were shown in this blog which is a shame because her frock was amazing.

    1. Christine Zafiris: Eugenie's reason for no veil was to make people aware to not be ashamed of their scars. Her low-cot gown in the back was to show the scar from her own major operation (sorry if you already knew that). But who knows - some future brides might nix the veil! Eugenie looked beautiful and very happy.

    2. Christine, I agree about the spanish Alba-wedding. Fernando Fitz-James Stuart y Solis and Sofia Palazuelo are such a very beautiful couple!
And yes Eugenie looks stunning! Both in her wedding dress as in her evening gown!

Very nice hat. Dress fits her well. It's vibrant like she is. Beatrice's dress is very nice too. Lovely wedding!!!

Agree, love love the high neck, I'm sick & tired of brides showing cleavage, showing side boobs, having barely there dresses on, so yes, it's stunning, and to see a part of a portrait collar again, is very welcoming

  5. It is nice to see the DofE smiling. His feelings for Sarah are so bad that I was wondering if it would show in the pictures. I am sure it was very long day for the littles, and sitting still for formal pictures had to be the last thing they wanted to do. Miss Mia seems to be the most over it.

Eugenie's Zac Posen is stunning. It is beautifully styled for her and she looks amazing in it. I like the inspiration behind it. Eugenie put a great deal of thought into paying tribute to her families.

I love the history of the brooch passed on from Queen Victoria, wow!

  9. Wonderful pictures.
That evening gown looks once again such a great choice, it flatters her hourglass figure. Great choices. But the best is happy and content look you can see in their faces.

  11. Lovely pictures - the couple are just bursting with happiness. The Zac Posen dress really suits Eugenie - love the colour. I like that she dares to be a bit different.

  12. Evening dress beautiful. Look very slim in the dress. The little ones are too sweet and very cute

  13. It seems that the Wessex children should have been in the official photos since they did have a part in the wedding. The bride’s wedding gown was exquisite but I am not sure of the evening gown. Although I do love the color, the shape of me reminds me of the Wonder Woman character. It is odd at the bodice and waist. Looks like she is trussed up. As for her mother, Sarah Ferguson, I was amazed at how nervous she looked at the wedding, I do not think she is back in the “royal fold” as some think.

    1. My "take" is that Sarah Ferguson is far from being in the royal fold, and being aware of that, felt insecure enough to ask Princess Beatrice to be her protective "buddy" on the day. That seems to me the most likely explanation for Beatrice's staying by her mother's side, dressed as a guest, rather than assuming the normal Maid of Honor duties and attire. Prince Andrew could have been Ms. Ferguson's "buddy", but (for whatever reason) chose to keep his distance. Perhaps he knew that appearing too friendly with her would inevitably spark reconciliation rumors.

    2. I agree, Jane. And I think that was a good decision. Also, Sarah looked very nervous and was doing odd faces and weird crab-like finger motions at people across the aisle from her. Running across the road to hug people in the crowd as Beatrice looked around for her after getting out of the car by the steps. Then a fist pump in the air at the entrance to the chapel. I wonder whether she suffers from some form of ADHD. Seems ready to jump out of her own skin--and this after years of odd, impulsive and ill-considered antics. Anyway, I don't want to detract from this beautiful wedding. But your comment made me think.

    3. Eugenie looks so beautiful and both her dresses are winners… WOW!
Perhaps Fergie was a bit nervous stands next to Prince Philip, pictured together for the first time in 20 years…… but the reason why Fergie and Beatrice arrived together is very natural: Prince Andrew followed Eugenie to the altar!

    4. Linda and Jane, it was been reported that Andrew has to be careful not to show his normal friendliness toward Sarah in front of Philip. Philip is said to still be frosty toward Sarah. The commentators from ITV said that royal ladies do not have supporting roles in weddings (I'm sorry, I'm sot sure of the exactly sure of the wording). It was a bit of a break in protocol for Beatrice to be the Maid of Honor. If that is true, having more of an honorary title may have been an acceptable compromise. It makes sense to me that it was a combination Beatrice supporting Sarah because Andrew could not, and a bit of playing within the rules of protocol as well. I want to say Andrew was a star. A real dad there. What a wonderful example as a royal.

  14. Eugenie's evening dress was beautiful, very flowing, nice color, a real princess gown! I am sure most Mothers of the Bride are nervous on their daughter's wedding day. I know my mother was. So perhaps Sarah was a bit nervous, but I think that mostly her effervescent personality showed that day. I so appreciate the genuine, outgoing lady that she is. Loved her dress and hat. She and Andrew have raised two lovely daughters.

    1. I wish Sarah well as I think she means well on a certain level. But her impulsive act-first-think-later behavior has caused her a lot of problems. I hope for the best.

    2. Yes, "effervescent personality" what a great way to describe Sarah. She is a breath of fresh air who is true to herself. Think she is great!!

  15. The resemblance between Princess Charlotte and the Queen in photos 5 and 6 is remarkable. The photographer did a great job of capturing a challenging group of strong personalities.

  16. The evening gown dress is beautiful in its totality, but there are elements that just don’t seem to gel. I therefore look at her and the colour and fabric of the dress and enjoy it for its total look.

  17. I can only say wow. Pss Eugenie looks great in her Wedding dress and the one by Zac Posen. This is the most elegant she ever looked and lets not forget happy and so her husband. Very nice to see the Queen and the DoE even with a little smile.I wish the new Bride and Groom all the Happiness in the World.

  19. Princess Eugenie looks beautiful.Jack is proud of his new wife. Her Majesties outfit is certainly striking. Fergie is naturally bubbly and fun. The evening gown is stunning, stylish and straight out of Hollywood glamour.I wish them well for the future. Eugenie should be given a royal roll;she is very respectful; supportive of William and Harry. Most of the Dukes and Duchesses are getting old,Kent,Glouster etc.

    1. I agree with you on everything. I understand Andrew's frustration. It will be a very long time before the Cambridge kids will play a significant role. As you said, there is an aging group of royals, and it would be very nice to have more youth representation. Beatrice and Eugenie have been well brought up and know how to handle the role, they should given one.

  20. Eugenie's wedding gown was marvelous. It was exactly the type of gown that flattered her totally! Well done designers! The evening dress I like except for the sleeves. The sleeves look like they are ballooning out because the sleeves are fitted when it comes down to the wrist and hand but the upper part of the sleeves are not fitted. It makes the sleeves look weird. Other than that, the gown is lovely.

  22. Eugenie looked absolutely fantastic on their big day ☺️ The dress is lovely, I really like the floral detail in lines on the fabric, evening look was also amazing and her hair-tiara-makeup combo was just simple perfection! As a side note:That was one thing I was unsatisfied with the look of the Duchess of Sussex at May wedding, her hair was a mess. Not in a good way. It was so disturbing to hear that her otherwise absolutely wonderful look was kinda ruined by the hairdresser's few minutes work... Her evening hair was much better!
