1st Day - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visit Australia

On October 16, 2018, The Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex attended a welcome event at Admiralty House in Sydney. The Duke and Duchess kicked off their first royal tour with a welcome meeting with Governor-General of Australia - Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lady Cosgrove at Admiralty House. The Duke and Duchess are in Australia for Sydney Invictus Games which will start on Saturday, but the Couple will also visit Melbourne, Dubbo and Fraser Island. The Duchess wore a white dress by Australian designer Karen Gee (a style called the Blessed dress, fittingly).

  5. Love this elegant sheath on Meghan. Great ivory bisque color and length is perfect for her. The other good thing is that there is no worry that this will blow upward in the wind.

  7. She looks amazing. The dress is very simple but it looks great on her. Hope you can post close up pictures of her earrings and bracelet as well. They were from Princess Diana's jewel collection.

  9. She likes to wear her hair long and loose, she should wear a simple bandeau to keep it out of her face. It is rude to their hosts to always have to shove it out of her face.

    1. What a strange remark. There‘s only one picture you can see Meghan with windblown hair ...

    2. I agree with gabriella. Rude for not only hosts but the people around them.
I think THIS may be one of the reason for CP Victoria's tight hair style.

    3. OK, so moving forward Women won't be allowed to wear their hair down just in case the wind happens to blow it.... really?

    4. I agree with monty. How can hair be the source of rudeness?

  10. If she had worn a dress of similar style (but not white) at the wedding on Friday, then there would not have been speculation about pregnancy.

    1. I suggest Blondiini and Franny have a short discussion, a chat, on whether it is a simple or sophisticated dress. I don't want to inffluence the conversation, but I think it is simple but proportions have been carefully respected.

    2. I think it can be both - sometimes keeping it simple (maybe deceptively so) can keep an outfit looking more sophisticated. Too much can work on certain personalities but can lack that touch of classiness (for lack of a better word).

  14. Great LIGHT coloured dress worn by Meghan today. Don't like the flyaway trench in some photos but assume it was weather related. She looks fantastic. Hope this sets the trend for the rest of the tour.

    1. The butterfly earrings Meghan is wearing belonged to the late Princess. Both photos focus on the earrings therefore.

    3. Just to see the butterfly earrings. And yes ,they couldn't be more different.

    4. Because she's wearing Diana's jewellery!!!! Is the blasphemy really necessary?!

    5. It's to show the earrings the Duchess of Sussex is currently wearing in Sydney once belonged to the Duke's mother Diana. Also a bracelet... end of story.

    6. The reason for this photo is to show that Meghan is wearing Dianas buttterfly earrings. Of course they are different women. Would be kind of strange if Harry married a copy of his mother.

I think it is nice that both Kate and now Meghan wear occasionally jewelry of Diana as a tribute. Kate even received Dianas ring as engagement ring and is wearing it ever since. I for myself would not like to wear the ring of my mother in law. Harry designed the engagement ring for Meghan himself using a couple of stones from Dianas jewels.

    7. Anonymous, @ 9:16, why must you get so upset to the point of rudeness, without even comprehending the point of the 2 photos side by side? I guess you just wanted to complain?

  20. Meghan looks beautiful, and such a lovely tribute to Diana. Best of all is seeing Harry light up every time he is with children.
