  4. I love her dress. Absolutely beautiful! It's like a modern take on Queen Silvia's wedding dress. But a better version. :) not to keen on her hair though. Looks slightly messy for a bridal updo. But still waiting for better pictures with hope.

    1. Her hair looks fine! I've looked at more pictures now. The dress, the veil and Meghan herself are all very beautiful. I also like that the flowers were small and kept in the same simple elegant way as the rest. Best of all, it all suits Meghan very well and she looks like herself.
      Congratulations Harry and Meghan.

  5. I love that the bride did not choose any of the designers that were predicted by the press -- not that they wouldn't have done a good job; it's just always fun to see the press be wrong :-). The Givenchy gown and veil are stunning! It will be interesting to learn something about the tiara (if I'd been betting, my $ would have been on the Spencer tiara). I adore that Prince Harry, Prince William and the little groomsmen are wearing frock coats, THE most elegant military look for such an occasion, imo. Just wish the little girls had been in a lovely pastel hue, instead of boring white.

Such beautiful weather for the event -- everyone needed it, I'm sure, and there it was.

  10. She looks fabulous. One of my favourite royal wedding dresses of all time. Love the clean simple lines and bright white. The tiara is perfect, the veil embroidery exquisite and her hair looks lovely up in the chignon. (Can't see ant messiness but I think I must have a slightly different perception of what is messy than some other people).

Love the military uniforms, and the outfits worn by the little attendants. The weather is beautiful as well.

Have seen some lovely and interesting outfits worn by some of the guests as well.

A perfect event for wedding and fashion lovers.

Meghan looked truly elegant in white satin. Her dress looks to be a combination of Mary of Denmark's (bodice) and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's wedding dresses. The Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau Tiara looked perfect with the dress and the breathtaking lacy veil.

  14. Perfection! Every single moment! Spectacular ceremony bringing everyone together! Loved it!

The only down moment is that they missed the bow and curtsy on camera. How could they miss that? They did bow and curtsy per those in the know..but the camera was elsewhere. I think it panned to Doria as they were on last verse of God Save the Queen and when they came back they were done and ready to walk out. So disappointing. Wanted to see her land that deep curtsy.

Wishing them a long love and laughter filled life! 🇺🇸👰🇬🇧🤴🥂💞

Totally agree. I did like the neckline, but expecting more from the dress and wish the hair was not so messy on such a formal occasion.

    3. They said from start this would be a family wedding and not a traditional royal stuffy wedding. He is 6th in line. It reflected them which is what they planned. Kate will be Queen....that dictates a more formal event.

      Delete
    4. I knew I would be in the minority here, but I completely agree. For the cost, I don't see where the money went. It's just a plain dress. I didn't expect much when I heard her say in an interview that her favorite wedding dress was the one Carolyn Bessette Kennedy for her wedding to JFK Jr. I thought it looked like a slip. Meghan's hair was messy again. So over that. Minimal jewelry that doesn't really show up. Everything was just so blah. I was surprised Kate wore white/cream. In America, we don't wear that color to a wedding. Only the bride wears white. It is considered to be in poor taste because a guest should not take attention from the bride by wearing the same/similar color. I do hope they will be happy, but she will not be a "style icon" for me.

      Delete
    5. I think it was perfect for the two of them and for his position in the line of succession. As someone was saying they actually could have had an even smaller wedding. I also didn't know that Meghan paid for her own gown. Imo, sheer perfect for this couple!

      Delete
    6. Anonymous19/5/18 19:55

@LeslieR: Kates outfit was pale lemon/yellow, not white or cream.

Just because "In America we don't wear that colour to a wedding..." doesn't mean that other countries or societies follow that rule; I have no doubt however that any member of the Royal Family or any guest at any British wedding, would care to clash with the brides dress colour.

      Delete
    7. Thank you @Lesile it was just a plain dress nothing iconic about it 😒 but that seems to be her style lately just boring. However Queen Mary's tiara was lovely and respectful of tradition.

      Delete
    8. absolutely agree, the wedding was a dissapointment for me, the dress, the hair, the make-up... The guests also didn't look interested in the whole thing. I only liked the US reverant.

      Delete
    9. Kates outfit is a "primrose yellow" and not white or cream.

      Delete
    10. Anonymus: Kate's dress was the one she wore for Charlotte's christening and at that time it was described as cream, not lemon/yellow. In any case, it shows up on camera as white. I also understand that other countries have different rules, that's why I said "in America". But since Meghan is American, I was just pointing out that in our culture wearing white to a wedding is not done. Even Oprah Winfrey changed her dress at the last minute when she realized the beige dress she was going to wear looked white on camera.

Meghan looks wonderful. The dress is iconic, it will be beautiful looking back 30 years later because of it's simplicity. I had a feeling she would choose this simple style because lace is getting boring...but silk is getting popular again...and after this wedding it'll be more popular I guess many bride will copy Meghan. I don't like the tiara I think there are prettier pieces in the Queen's collection but who knows...maybe her choice was limited of very few pieces, I don't how it works, or maybe she likes it unlike me.
I have always been saying that those messy updos that she had when she attended different engagements were okay, but I was 100% sure that on her wedding day she would have a nice and neat updo. Clearly I was wrong. This hairstyle doesn't suit her...I mean even if it wasn't messy, the middle parting looks weird to me. BUT still...she looks beautiful and happy so is Harry and that's what really matters. I'm happy for them!

    2. I loved everything about her look and you are so right about that dress. Elegant and it will stand the test of time. The hair was relaxed, but that's what happens unless all that hair is sprayed, pinned, etc into place. I actually loved the tiara. It was Kate's tiara that disappointed me. As far as her choice, it was said that the Queen gave her a fairly large selection, but the larger tiaras probably wouldn't have been her style. This one had bling, but worked with the veil and hair, while still being much like Meghan...understated.
      They looked so very happy!

  25. It doesn't get any better than this. What a beautiful, elegant & timeless dress. I was not surprised, I always thought that she would be herself on her wedding day. We would look at these pictures over the years and the dress would never look dated. The veil was delicate and ethereal. This wedding felt incredibly real and loving to me. I rather enjoyed the faces of the royal family during the preacher's sermon, one of the best moments for me.

    1. Agree! It was all great to me! It was exactly what they wanted ....a reflection of the two of them coming together and bringing both backgrounds together. The sermon was fabulous. The message said EVERYTHING and given some of the vile racist comments in the press I thought he really brought it home with the "love" message beyond a marital love but a love for each other . ..everywhere.

Still feeling euphoric from all theses miles away. Must have been amazing to be in Windsor today. God bless the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

  30. What I liked best about the wedding was how much in love they both are, you could see it when they looked at each other and in their smiles. Apart from that, the dress was just OK, not my favorite, but very nice especially the veil. Loved to see all the fascinators and summery outfits. The American reverend seem to go on and on and on, he sounded more Baptist than Episcopalian. I understand why royalty from other countries were not invited, but I'd love to have seen what they would have worn to this wedding.

  31. One of the BBC commentators said he felt this wedding will possibly change the world. I agree. In so many ways it was just a triumph of humanity and all that makes us the only ones aware of our own spirit. I understand that some may have found the sermon delivery a little overly dramatic. But that’s perhaps why it will add an even more memorable facet to the most extraordinary messages. I think these messages will resonate with all generations. There sure is something very special about these two young people and they will have a real impact on their generation and those to come.
