On April 21, 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the Invictus Games reception hosted by Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Lucy Turnbull at the Australia House in London. The couple are set to hear more about plans for the games during the reception, and to greet servicemen and women from both Australia and the UK. Meghan Markle wore a green floral printed dress by Self-Portrait. |
YES Meghan I see you popping some color💚💕 Of course the jacket had to stay on because its a very daring dress underneath. But we are making progress.
ReplyDeleteAgree.
DeleteNot found of her dress...
ReplyDeletePor primera vez, me gusta!!!
I'm so excited. A dress that's not black. A dress, from what we can see, is not "messy".(though the detail of the dress at the bottom shows that it is) Jacket worn normally. All boxes ticked. She looks fab. Do you think she's been reading this blog??
ReplyDeleteAnnie I think she does because she used to ran her own blog (the twig) she probably still blogs anonymously
DeleteI suppose it's possible that she's looked at this blog, but remember that she did say in her engagement interview that when the huge media interest exploded she stopped reading anything at all about her and Harry. If I were Meghan, I would do the same. The only thing that matters is nurturing their partnership--everything comes from that base--all else is background noise
DeleteI think she reads everything about herself, or she has one of her friends do it and provide her with feed back. For some reason, I get the impression she is probably very concerned about her image. Part of her Hollywood background. Creating a persona.
DeleteI hope that isn't true, Leslie. I think it could drive a person crazy. Diana read press about herself and it constantly upset her, according to many sources. I hope that Meghan has learned from her mother-in-law's struggles. I think Meghan is more mature upon entrance to the fray.
DeleteTres jolie. Elle a beaucoup maigri. Dommage. Toujours aussi élégante

ReplyDeleteI hope she has not been reading this blog, some of the comments have been very sharp
ReplyDeleteShe is going to have to get used to it. She seeks and loves the limelight. So get ready for criticism!
DeleteSimple and elegant.
ReplyDeleteI do not like this dress. But she looks professional.
ReplyDeleteelle a de très maigre jambes, pas normal si maigre.
ReplyDeleteShe has terrible thin legs and bony feet and ankles, that destroys almost every look when wearing a dress. She looks better in pants. That's a fact! Maybe some exercising could help.
DeleteOuch. That is a mean, body-shaming comment. It may be that her legs are thin in your opinion and you certainly have a right to your own perception, but "terrible"? I think her slim legs are lovely and her ankles are elegant and that she looks fabulous in skirts and heels. To say, "maybe some exercising could help" is offensive since this is her body type. All past photos show this and she is a yoga devotee who exercises a lot.
DeleteShe looks lovely - nice to see a bit of colour.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty lady in a very pretty dress. Deep green suits her. I love the movement of the floaty fabric as she walks. Feminine but still professional with the jacket and accessories. Jewelry is again very subtle. I wonder whether she will wear some of the family emeralds eventually--now that I've seen her in green, I hope so.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, happy to see some color on her.
ReplyDeleteWow. I like. She looks elegant. And I'm a bit sad, because in my opinion her spontaneousity was quite refreshing. Eventually, I'm sure she is able to do her future job very well.
ReplyDeleteNice color dress, but to low cut in front and back. I hope she wears the blazer as long as she is there and again no stockings.Maybe a somewhat lower heel would make walking a bit easier.I like the red suit from Lucy Turnbull a lot. Maybe Miss Markle needs a little help from a Stylist.
ReplyDeleteThe green colour is lovely (am myself a firm fan of green and I think it´s underrated as a clothing colour), but everything else here underwhelms me. I find it ... uninspired (dare I say boring?) And while I understand that the jacket needed to stay on to cover the low back and hide those hideous straps, I have to wonder what the point is of chosing such a dress only to then cover its main features?
ReplyDeleteI don't like he dress at all. Color ist good, but the top is too busy and the length is not good for Meghan, needs to be some inches shorter, but still over knee length. And she wears again shoes, she obviously can't walk in. The only good thing is the Alexander Mc Queen Blazer, but it was so much better combined with slim pants and white blouse on the previous photo.
ReplyDeleteThey look just lovely together.
ReplyDeleteI hope Miss Markle and Prince Harry don´t run out of energy before they are married. ;-) ....a lot of obstacles....
P.S.
Fashion is one of her attitudes. (IMO)
Voilá... no touching, no holding hands :)... they are learning :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, but why should they not be holding hands or touching each others arm or back?
Delete?
DeleteBeth, because they are not teenagers but mature people representing the Queen and Britain when meeting Prime Ministers or other heads of states. Privately, they can do as they wish. We know they are in love but external displays detract from the seriousness of the occasion.
DeleteI presume Beth is American, where public figures feel the need to hold hands to show unity. In most cases its pretence. Just like how they insisted Trump should hold Melania's hand when clearly they are not into each other. In Britain it's a different culture, you don't see public figures displaying too much affection. Yes you can hold hands genuinely but not to put on a show as Harry & Meg were doing.
DeleteI'm assuming you are not American, Winnie? How odd, then, that you would make such a blanket statement about Americans showing a bit of physical affection in public. I am American and I can assure you that, in most cases I personally know of, holding hands is not pretense. It's just a natural thing to do. Trump is an anomaly in so many ways and to use this one man as an example of "typical" here is ill informed. The Obamas, Ronald and Nancy Reagan, the Bushes, and the overwhelming majority of Presidential couples here hold hands and are not pretending to have long and devoted marriages. They do. I hope for the same for Harry and Meghan. I loved their spontaneous hugging and touching, which hurt no one, and I hope it continues.
DeleteI'm not American, total Brit here and I have absolutely no problem with their holding hands and touching. They're hardly putting on a pornographic display and the way they behave is no different from plenty of other young couples I see everyday in London.
DeleteBeth can answer for herself but I don't think she is American - not that there is anything wrong with being one.
I think when she opens her closet she must see black, black, black, black, grey, black, white, black, black, green, navy, white, black, black, black, navy, camel, green, black, white, black, black, black, black, navy, green, grey, black. Must be easy to pick out and color coordinate an outfit without having to really think about it. What shall I wear today . . . so many choices? Oh, black pants, white blouse, black jacket, black shoes, black purse, messy bun, little jewelry. Yep, lookin' good.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes you are so right. She does look good in black and white.
Deleteblack, black, black, is your comment very stupid
DeleteAnnonymous, I guess you didn't get that I was being facetious. My point being her style is very boring and she lacks originality. I do not find her stylish at all. I just don't get what everybody thinks is so great about how she dresses. Letizia has great style. Crown Princess Mary dresses beautifully. Catherine is elegant and colorful. Meghan - meh.
DeleteNow we have the colour police at work! She likes black and monochrome shades and she looks good in them. It's a far better fashion choice than, say, the York sisters, who are all over the map with no sense of colour or style of what suits them and just seem to grab random outfits.
DeleteI like how she looks generally except I'm not so sure about this green dress - as Vanessa said, why buy a dress that you will always have to cover up.
Agree, Heather.
DeleteThe dress looks nice but not the jacket over it.
ReplyDeleteFinally something that ain’t black 👏🏻
ReplyDeleteLooks like she is still trying to find her style.
