  1. Only Mette-Marit and Mrs. Argentina look fine. Mathilde's look is too busy, Maxima's suit does not fit her and Rania! What is that outfit? Shiny blouse gets barely a pass, skirt is very very strange!

  2. Maxima should retire that suit - jacket is too tight, the pants are too baggy. Rania's outfit is just weird.
(I'm not sure why royals are at such a conference...)

    1. In countries with monarchies the King (or Queen) is the head of state. I have no explanation for the presence of their consorts or heirs.

    2. I understand they are heads of state but political decisions are made by politicians in countries with constitutional monarchies. Example: Canada's "head of state" is Queen Rlizabeth but she hasn't attended, whereas our Prime Minister has.
There is even less reason for Royal spouses to be there.

    3. This is at the World Economic Forum. Apart from being consort of our king, our queen Máxima is (amongst others) the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA). She has a job to do.

    6. Royals are prominent figures also with their public work, charity, events they take part etc. They get to be heart, so they are very important in indoctrination even when most of them has no political power.

    7. The constitucional role of King Felipe VI lets him go to Davos as HM assumes the highest representación of the Spanish State un international relations.

  4. For some it is only another catwalk. Which reminds me: where is Letti?

  5. This is fashionwise a complete desaster!

    1. Maybe that was a good thing and they had better things to do. Actually I am happy Maxima had this much low key this time, she could have stolen all the attention in her regular "Maxima look".

  6. I generally find Rania very forward and innovative where fashion is concerned, but what has happened? These skirts are just ugly, and the combat/granny boots? I do like them with jeans an miniskirts, specially if you are under 40, but oh my Lord!! That ribbed sweater reminiscent of the 70's with the light skirt... IMO big faux pas.

    1. Yes, all the skirts she has worn these days are hideous but specially the light one... horrible with those granny boots.

  7. They are there to work and share ideas. Hope it is a good week for all!

  8. I think Queen Mathilde looks quite elegant. I would love to see her jacket more clearly. It looks very pretty. I find when she is at this sort of event rather than doing her "Queen" work, she looks quite stylish. Queen Rania is extremely intelligent and very pretty, but she does choose some strange things to wear. The Argentinian first lady is always elegant and I think Crown Princess Mette-Marit looks lovely. Queen Maxima looks okay, definitely not the place to be flamboyant. She looks seriously working.

  9. Willem Alexander wasn't there. Juist Máxima.
