  1. Maria Teresa looks great again.
Stephanie is dressed like an old auntie ready for her weekly coffee klatsch. To make things worse she is wearing her unspeakable figure skater tights in open toed shoes again. Will she ever learn some simple basics? Her posture couldn't get worse, what's that stupidity with the clutch in front of her crotch?

  4. Why doesn't this blog ever say the maker/manufacturer of Grand Duchess Theresa's clothes? She usually is impeccably dressed.

    1. Most of Maria Theresa's clothes come from Natan. Stephanie looks like an old auntie in that dress and her posture is still a disgrace

  5. Is nice to see Stephanie nicely dressed and smiling. Lovely.

  6. Here we go again! Stéphanie has relapsed into an awkward and dowdy dress worn with what seems to be a pair of compressive stockings. And why is she holding her purse as if it were a fig leaf? Maria Teresa looks well turned out in a becoming colour as usual.

  7. I wonder whether Stephanie has been in touch with Catherine over these past few years. I think that Stephanie has had a fairly difficult adjustment to her role and Catherine has had her moments, too. They seemed quite warmly in sync during Catherine's visit to Lux and Stephanie is now holding her clutch in the same way as Catherine. I don't mind Stephanie's dress--she seems so much more engaged overall lately that she just looks better.

    1. Before Catherine's visit to Lux she never wore her clutch like this. I don't think they have been much in contact, except for the Wessexes the British royals are not close to their continental colleagues. Remember the utter disgrace when they didn't send a single family member to Queen Fabiola's funeral?
When Stephanie appeared on the royal stage everybody was drooling about how suitable she is and how perfect she will be in her role. Funny to read about a difficult adjustment.

    2. You're absolutely right Romana, Stephanie didn't start "crotch clutching" until after her meeting with kate. I really hope this doesn't become a habit for her. It's not the right way to hold a clutch, Maria Teresa is holding hers the correct way. At the side of her body.

    3. However in a later post you will see MT holding her clutch exactly the same! (With no criticism, btw).

    4. It's not true that that the British Royals aren't close to other royal families.

Agree about the clutch - it's a very recent thing and very bizarre.

  8. I like Stephanies outfit, the dress is lovely and the color suits her well.

I don't think that skin-colored tights are that worse in peeptoes.
Nothing to shake heads about ;-)

  9. I don't think Stephanie looks like "an old auntie". I'm not a great fan of lace during the day (unless it's a gala event) but it fits her nicely and it's a cheerful colour and she looks happy. So it's a "win" for me.
I'm not too keen on those boxy coats that Maria Theresa favours. Rather unnatural padding in the shoulders.

  13. Just look how good and fit Stephanie looks when she has right measures in her dress. This hem length makes her legs shine and is so becoming to her.

  15. A beautiful dress and colour dress for the Grand Duchess. She is a beautiful lady. If she is holding the clutch this way well good for her. Nothing wrong with it. People's opinion how you should carry a clutch. Can be next to the side or the way the Duchess of Cambridge and Grand Duchess are holding theirs. Strange opinions of people who must attend funerals. The British Royal House much more formal like some other airy fairy Royal Houses of Europe. They do have a program worked for the year for all the Royal members and maybe it was impossible for one of the members to attend a funeral.

    1. A representative was sent to the funeral - the British Ambassador who is the Queen's official representative. Some people felt this wasn't personal enough, the BRF deliberately snubbing etc. I've no idea why no-one from the family went even the much maligned Wessexes who are never good enough - I'm guessing because of prior commitments. It caused particular comment, I think, because the Queen had broken with longstanding tradition of not attending foreign funerals when she went to King Baudouin's funeral.

  16. I like Stephanie's dress - the lace and lovely vibrant colour. I don't like the tan tights and accessories.

I like the colour of Maria Teresa's outfit but not the style - it makes her look a bit dumpy, I think it would look better if it gave her some shape through the tailoring.
