King Harald invited his family to South Africa in order to both celebrate his 80th birthday and have a holiday. Norwegian royal family members, that is, King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, Prince Sverre Magnus, Princess Märtha Louise, Maud Angelica and Emma Tallulah Behn got together for that family holiday. The photo was taken in February. King Harald celebrated his 80th birthday on February 21.
They seemed very united and close as a family. Nice to see.
ReplyDeleteWOW on my doorstep.. hope they had a lovely stay in Muizenberg Cape Town...one of the best surfing venues in our beautiful city
ReplyDeleteYes, Cape Town city itself and scenery around is the most beautiful part S. Africa.
DeleteGood place for summer vacations.
what a lovely family, and the queen looks stunning! im so happy to see them in my home town! Cape Town has some of the best beaches in the world and and surfers corner at Muizenberg is a hot spot for surfers from around the world....Ronelle i must agree with you... Im sure they having a wonderful time here and the weather is fabulous....
DeleteAgree with you and Ronelle. Muizenberg is stunning and painted little houses are world renowned. The Royals from Norway have good taste in choosing holiday spots!!!
DeleteLong live the Queen! Enchanting.
ReplyDeleteYes!!!
DeleteWhy to cover yourself so much when you are on the beach, a little bit of sun is good for you especially when you are live in the country when the sun is "luxury"
ReplyDeleteThe water can be quite cold in Cape Town, that's why people wear wetsuits.
DeleteNice to see Mette-Marit without the black pants and hose, they need to be in the sun more often, they look like they're having lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteThe reason they have covered up is because the water is cold and the sun is extremely hot. They would be so burnt having such fair skin.
ReplyDeleteI live in Durban South Africa
Then of course it is understandable.
DeleteThe "rash guard" suits are protection from the sun because of the risk of skin cancer. This is very important for fair northern skin.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see the picture of a smiling and happy princess Martha Louise! I am sure that they all had a wonderful time in beautiful Cape Town.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the whole family holidaying together.
