  1. I´m sure Madeleine are happily married and personality-wise a good match. But optically, every time I see photos of them together, I cannot help but think that they look odd together, more like father and daughter. Someone will probably jump at me for saying this - but it´s just my opinion, no offense intended. It´s just that Madeleine has a youthful, girly look, and Chris looks quite a bit older than his years, so together they look odd to me, although neither of them is bad-looking by themselves.

    1. I would not say like father and daughter but I have always found there is a discrepancy in the appearance of this couple. It is not so much age but something like a different energy, Madeleine is always positive and outgoing, while Chris looks often tired and not well. I also don't find him that much attractive. Actually the only time he looked really good and happy was on their wedding day.

    2. Chris is in his 40s whereas Madeleine is in her 30s (Chris look older than his years but Madeleine younger than her actual years, so no wonder that they seem to be generations apart).
Chris should lose weight, eat healty, stop smoking and drinking alcohol. This may be hard to do at first but soon he would see the results: more energy, better health and more attractive looks.
Chris is still young man, with young children, and it would be a shame if he won't take better care of himself!
But Madeleine and Chris look happy together and I guess that is all that counts.

    3. I get the same "feeling". Chris really only looked happy on their wedding day. I hope the vibes I get from the photos are wrong.

    4. I don't think Chris looked happy only on his wedding day. Its not true at all! Haven't you seen pictures of him when Leonore and Nicolas were born? Or during Nobels or at the Swedish Academy formal gatherings in December...I certainly got impression of very happy and content man.
One thing I like about Chris the most are his eyes. He has kind eyes and when he smiles, his eyes smile and his smile looks genuine.
But yes, he should take better care of himself. He's overweight, smoking, drinking...if he's not more careful, Madeleine will end up as young widow and that would be bad.

    5. I think you´ve all made valid points. Maybe it´s him looking annoyed so often (with the attention he gets), or looking exhausted / tired / lacking energy, or him looking scruffy / unhealthy / exhibiting unhealthy habits that give me that ´odd´-vibe, but there´s definitely something. I´m glad I´m not the only one noticing that.
I like to see Madeleine and Chris happy together, that is indeed the most important thing. I just think they could look really stunning together and more in tune with each other if Chris had the same young, energetic and well-kempt look to him as Madeleine. That he is 8 years her senior is not a problem, but it shouldn´t show that much.

    6. We really have only fotos and don't see how they interract in real live, so we can only give our limited personal observations and I must say that when I see them I can't find that "something" in their relationship, and they are the only royal couple so far that make me think that way.

  2. There's 8 years between them - she's 34, he's 42, I think they both look their age, but he always looks a bit severe, as though he's bored or not amused.

  3. I agree, Vanessa. In the first photo they really look like father and daughter!

  6. Very attractive couple. I think that Chris has never been that comfortable with press attention but that is a pretty normal reaction for a normal person. Somehow he started off on the wrong foot with the Swedish press--not sure why. They seem happy with a lovely family so good for them.

  7. Tolles Paar. Sie sehen so glücklich aus und es ist so unwichtig, ob man älter oder jünger aussieht.

  8. They look happy. Nice to see.

  9. In the top picture they look about the same age. They are dressed casually and make a very nice couple.

    2. A lovely Hedgefunder, former Rothschild- and Oppenheimer employee... Yes, they are the best of the boys. You'll find them friday evenings in the City of London's pubs with their pints. Yes Bine, the true fairytale. And do you think it's true with that interview on TV? Common, she acts very vain in public. In contrast to her sister, I have to say.
From Fashion blogs he should be often banned with his style. Nothing to talk about Fashion here.
As a mother I always thought Princess Madeleine jumped to quick into this marriage after her fiancee's Jonas escapade. I wish them very a long and happy marriage as mine from my heart.

    4. That about the marriage was exactly my thought, @rainha leonor! As if she was afraid to be left on the shelf...

  11. There are many royal couples we see looking affectionate and lovey-dovey in public but that doesn't mean that they are trully in love. Look what happen to Martha Louise of Norway and Tessy of Luxembourg, both ladies divorced from their husbands.
Sometimes it is wrong to judge a book by its cover, just because Chris looks not so appealing than other men that doesn't mean that he is bad. By the way, not every hedgefunder is a bad boy. There are many good pictures of him but very sad these pics are not posted because some people love to make him look bad.
I think it is wrong to compare Madeleine and her sister, both ars different. Madeleine is known to be very shy and timid when she was young. She always run away and hide while being photographed.I remembered when she just started attending her royal duties and engagements, she always had someone with her as her companion, her mentor(her ex-school teacher) and her close friends. This shows that she was inconfident and very timid. I never ever think that she is vain.
As for Chris, very unfortunate, he is not photogenic, he doesn't look good in pics but he looks better in live videos. Is he a good man, does Madeleine marry the wrong guy? No one knows, only Madde herself knows. If he is really a bad guy, I don't think the Swedish Royal family will allow him to attend the Nobel Prize ceremony and banquet at all. Don't forget he attended the Canadian State visit recently and he has been doing a fine job for Sweden.
TBH, these two are the most intelligent ones in the family.

    1. Dear Lim Ling, it would be humiliating for her parents,if Madeleine came without her husband to the ceremony and so on... He has a duty as well as her husband and will have nothing should the marriage ever fail. But that is not the point. And you are right, we should not judge.-
But I have to think about who could be the most intelligent ones in the family!!?? I am not right sure about that. :)

  12. Chris looks a lot better in videos. He's not photogenic, but in a video his charisma and charm shows in a way it never can on a photo. I think Madeleine has become more and more beautiful in the last few years and I think it is because she's content and feel loved and in harmony with her husband and life. She never looked this harmonious and vibrant with her ex. So I would say Chris is really good for her.

  13. I think Chris struggles and takes pride to keep himself apart from being labeled a 'royal' or living on their citizen's taxes..didn't he refuse citizenship in Sweden? He clearly wants his own career, wage earning identity and has said in videos he needs to make a living to support his own family and those he does business with needn't know he is royal or busy with another country's royal duties. He says people he does business with aren't aware of who he is. He seems to value his own identity and his family separate than the usual royal photos. Madeline must lead a lonely life away from her family and royal duties and luxuries, with servants, nannies and being in London. I think it's a struggle for both of them.
