  4. Funny picture nr.3, when the stewards/servants watching in "horror" as the President touches the King's back! "Omg"! A bit awkward, how Sr. Macri holds hands with his wife at official foto-calls as seen before... He certainly loves the show.
Maxima looks good with heavy diamonds, hair well done, but not so beaming tonight. Tired?

  9. Máxima looks like a total Queen, I really love that dress on her, and not an easy color for everybody, and finally her hair looks well done. Ms Awada is very stylish and can make a paper bag look chic, however I think black is not her color, and she really needs good undergarments, I read somewhere that she prefers not to use brassieres in my humble opinion that dress needs a lift.

    1. You are right! Wrong or no underwear and the best dress looks not the best.

  10. Maxima looks stunning! I love that Bandeau Tiara. She is wearing first time that magnificent House Diamond Necklace (last worn in public in 70´s). Also gown looks so much better without lila cape. She has also very beautiful soft hair and make-up. Ten points really.

    1. Excited to see that necklacw! Was a fav of Juliana. Gorgeous!

Saw a clip where during Wilem's toast he mentioned that Argentina was special because it gave him his wife/Queen. It was very sweet and Maxima beamed.

    2. It is so interesting what you both write about the jewels. I noticed they must be something special, but I do not know the history behind them. Thanks! Here are some people on this blog who know much about the royal houses, which is great, it adds some information for people like me who only look at the beautiful dresses :-))

@ Diane, I would have loved to see this video, these two are made for each other, Willem must consider himself the luckiest man on earth, he did not only find the queen of his heart, but the best thinkable queen for his country. It is amazing what these two radiate, only by the pictures, I have never seen them live.

    4. Beth; Netherlands was center of diamond trade old days, Dutch royal family had large collection of big and fine diamonds. Year 1897 some were put to magnificent parure to teenage queen Wilhelmina (17), among these jewels were Stuart Tiara, earrings, corsage, brooch etc. Among items was also this necklace. Because it was created from already existing diamonds, that necklace got name The House Diamond Necklace. Previous queen, Beatrice never used it in public, but her mother Juliana had it quite often. This was the first time Maxima had it. Stuart Tiara is still waiting to be worn by Maxima.

  16. Máxima is perfection. The rose cut diamond bandeau is such a simple but magnificent piece and her hair is just perfectly styled for it.
I can't help saying she is the most queenly queen of her generation :)
