Not for this red Valentino...But wouldn't it be great is she borrowed Princess Benedikte's two-tone, flowy pink dress she wears so often? I wish we could mix and match the jewels as we please! Maybe we should make an app?!?
Diane, I agree. The pink stones clash with the dress. I also think that the necklace is too short, it is half covered by her long hair and somehow "gets into conflict" with the high neckline of the gown. A longer necklace would have been great, pearls or diamonds because this dress doesn't need additional red.
I think you are right Marianne :) it does look like the Peacock diadem. I did not realize that it could be altered so much. Interesting. They are indeed rubies and much darker than they appear in this photo.
I like the dress very much because it is simple without Maxima's usual chichi and frou-frou. You have to be tall and slim like her to wear such a dress.
She looks gorgeous. The dress, the hair ( whatever it takes to get it looking this good works for me!). Perhaps the jewels do look a bit pinkish but maybe the dress is more of a wine colour than red.
Yay! Extensions are back in!! She looks gorgeous, is there any colour that doesn't suit her?
ReplyDeleteNow THIS is the Maxima that we love to see!
ReplyDeleteI am tad confused by the jewels as to color? Maybe it is the light. But she is wearing a red dress and the jewela look ...pink?

DeleteWe should! :)
DeleteSo they are pink? Not working for me here.

DeleteThe stones are not pink but red. She wears the original necklase belonging to the Pauwenstaartdiadeem.

DeleteA little too pink. Romana said it best!
DeleteAnd it could also be lighting.

DeleteAbsolutely stunning!
ReplyDelete(It's hard to imagine who else could pull off what is essentially a bright red caftan. This is why I love Maxima.)

ReplyDeleteMax is back! she looks amazing in red.
ReplyDeleteLove the way she sneaked a beautiful tiara to non tiara occasion. Red gown looks good.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't a tiara, it is a collier and part of the set. ;-)
DeleteM. wears a necklace that had not been seen in public for a very long time.
DeleteThat was new to me, I had no idea Dutch Peacock Ruby Parure has a mirror image necklace.

DeleteApparently after some research the rubies in the peacock collection are in fact PINK tone versus RED. Thus solves the question of lighting etc.
DeleteLOL
C'est le diadème de la parure du paon porté en collier.Les rubis sont du plus beau rouge : cœur de pigeon .
ReplyDeleteC'est le collier de la parure, pas le diadème porté en collier.
