  1. Woww Madeleine... Woww. She looks stunning. It seems that the tiara was made for her. Stunning :)

    1. I wish there was a color portrait of Sibylla at Madeleine's age in this tiara since she first put this Connaught gem on the map. It would be so fun to compare grandmother and grand-daughter!

    2. Agree. I think they linda look a like. :)

  2. The amethyst tiara looks so great on Sofia. I typically wouldn't have guessed this look could work but it looks better than most of its previous outings. Madeleine looks great above her shoulders but I don't think I like this dress. Maybe in person or watching it in action. Quern Silvia is my favorite tonight. I am glad the Crown Princess family is taking time to be a family out of the spotlight also.

  3. Sur la 8ième photo, à la gauche de la princesse Madeleine, on peut voir L'honorable Thomas Mulcair, C.P., député et Chef du Nouveau Parti démocratique du Canada.

    1. I noticed Mulcair there. The Mayor of Calgary is also part of the delegation, among many others.

    2. So did I notice Mulcair, he's hard to miss.

    3. I thought a "socialist" wouldn't be so keen on royalist events. I guess a free trip is welcome in one of Canada's most miserable months.

    4. Wow, um....really? A little rude...

    5. There is no less than a 20-person Canadian contingent, including Canada's minister of science, mayors etc. It is a trade mission as well as a more personal visit.

    6. @kelly. Rude, no, just an observation. He is the lame-duck leader of Canada's third political party and I was surprised to see him on such a visit.

  4. Sofia looks wonderful. Madelines dress is a bit like a nightgown.

  5. The aquamarine tiara and earrings are perfect for Madeleine--she looks amazing. Just wondering whether she might be expecting? Did I miss an announcement? Of course, I could also be completely wrong 😉 Just something about her...

  6. Great jewellery! The queen does look very elegant. Madeleine's dress is very princessy - in a nice way. Sofia looks good but I'm not keen on short sleeves with a high neck on an evening dress.

    1. I am interested that you say that, Heather, about short sleeves and a high neck. That is the reason I could never be enthusiastic about the red dress the Duchess of Cambridge wore to the Chinese State Dinner. Everyone raved about it but to me it looked very disappointing. I must say Princess Sofia looks wonderful in the Amethyst tiara.

    2. High neck and short sleeves has "t-shirt" vibes for me. Either have no sleeves or elegant elbow length or long sleeves.
That tiara is gorgeous. Dramatic but something that looks good on a younger person.

  7. Wow - the aquamarines on Madeleine and the amethysts on Sofia! My day just got much better!

  8. Madeleine looks beautiful. Sofia's dress doesn't do it for me, but glad to see her wearing the amethyst tiara.

  9. what a wonderful tiara display. the ladies look amazing.

  10. I love Madeleine's look, she's an endless beauty. The aquamarin tiara suits her perfectly and her kindness shines through these pictures. On the other hand Sofia's look isn't my favourite. The ametist tiara looks big on her head I definitely get this impression in the 2nd picture. And her hairstyle also doesn't suit this tiara, her dress is weird for me especially the neck part. But this is just an opinion.

    1. The Queen and her two SIL wore there hair this way with this tiara. They wore it perpendicular opposed to slanted as she has here. Maybe that's what strikes you funny. This tiara- one of my favorites- looks oversized on all four women. Maybe we will see it slanted on the other women for comparison. Definitely the best this tiara's jewels have ever looked even if you aren't keen on its outing.

  11. The aquamarines for Madeleine and the amethyst for Sofia. Wow. Madeleine looks stunning and Sofia looks very beautiful. What a great event!

  12. Wow, Madeleine sieht wunderschön aus, Silvia ist auch ok, aber Sofia gefällt mir nicht - zu dunkel, zu geschlossen und Tiara ist zu weit hinten.

  13. Madeleine continues to be absolutely stunning in her appearances. She makes me smile whenever I see her photos. And it looks like that tiara was meant to her. She looks breathtaking.
Sofia looks also very lovely. One of her best looks. Good to see her with the amethyst tiara for the first time. Its very lovely tiara and great to see it worn again.

  14. This time is Sofia's look for me the winner. I like her dress, tiara and hairdo. Silvia looks great too - real queenly. Madeleine is pretty of course but this dress isn't elegant enough and I think it even doesn't suit her.

  15. Apesar de estarem todas lindas, neste jantar, a minha preferida é Princesa Madeleine.
Adoro a Princesa Sofia, mas este look, na minha opinião não a favorece. Acho muito escuro e parece mais velha :(

    1. She is talking a planned vacation/sabbatical. One spouse must take a maternity leave by Swedish law or protocol so i wouldn't be surprised if it's partly that. Another blog follower could tell you more!

    2. I seem to recall someone saying in another post that they are/were in the USA. I may be completely wrong about that but it might be nice for them to be somewhere where [no disrespect intended] they could be quite anonymous and unrecognized.

  18. Love the colour on Sofia, and the tiara looks beautiful against her dark hair. On closer inspection there was something, I am not sure what about the collar (although it is pretty) that I don't really like, but overall she looks lovely.

Madeleine's dress is too fussy for my taste and a bit too like a "night gown". I am also wondering if I am looking at more than one person, as she looks very, very happy and quite busty, but then I am not sure how old her youngest is.

  20. HM looks lovely. The aquamarine tiara and earings are perfect on Madeleine. Agree with a few on here about her dress. It's very negligee looking !
Good to see Sofia has had access to other tiaras. Not too keen on her dress, lovely colour. The design is quite similar to the emerald gown she wore at the Nobel Prize. It has more of a 'work in process' rather than the finished look.

  21. Sofia just rocks that amethyst tiara, what a surprise really. I like her dress too. Madeline´s jewels are WOW but I do not like her dress at all. Too much ruffles, open back and neckline are not at all becoming to her.
