  1. Absolutely horrible dress for her - she should never, never bare her shoulders.

    1. ... and I was thinking how spectacularly lovely she looked - the dress, the hair, the whole package!

    2. I agree Barbara! She looks amazing. She is a tiny very lean woman. She is on shape. I am glad she doesn't cover up. I was teased relentlessly for years because I was a 'string bean and bony'. I was body shamed and told I was not a good role model. What? This is my body. I eat like a horse. I refused to show my arms and legs for years! Then one day I just stopped. We should ALL embrace our bodies. Letizia is beautiful!

Sorry. I see so many bash her and some others often. It is wrong. Letizia is thinner than she was before she married. But bodies change. We age. Her weight and shape has remained constant for years now. There is no eating issue.

So yes Barbara she looks wonderful from head to toe!

    3. Horrible, my eye! I never read you complain about the very mature Scandinavian queens (yes, all 3 of them) showing off lots of wrinkly skin by wearing shoulder free and even rather low cut gala gowns. That's what I call a not very pleasant sight. Women in their 70s should wear gala gowns like Queen Sofia.
I totally agree with Barbara and Diane. Letizia looks great.
Diane, I also know a naturally very thin woman. She can eat a huge pack of chips in the evening and doesn't gain any weight at all. Her husband is naturally chubby and gains a kilo just by watching her eating.

  2. She looks great, but more like a celebrity than a queen. I find the top too low-cut and too casual.

    1. Well, I remember Princess Madeleine wearing a much lower cut dress for a Nobel ceremony. She really did show cleavage. I suppose it's ok for Madeleine but not for Letizia.

    2. Princess Madeleine was massively criticized for that dress, at least in swedish media. So I guess it wasn't OK with everyone.

    3. Madeleine is not a queen.

  4. I love her hair but not the dress, or top, or whatever. You can practically count her ribs. I am not bashing her, she is way too thin for this style of dress.

  5. I like the outfit with the cape and heels, but that's about it. I don't like the dress at all. And i think her hair looks bad. I'm just going to say it, Letizia is way too old to be wearing some of the clothes that she wears. Just because you're thin doesn't mean you should go out showing a lot of skin. Letizia strikes me as an old woman who wants to be young and doesn't want to accept her age. She dresses very inappropriately for her to be a Queen. If I had no idea who she was and saw these pictures I would be completely shocked to find out that she was royalty and even more shocked that she's a queen.

    1. I feel so sorry for these women in the public eye - every little detail is pulled apart and criticised. Kate dresses too old, Letizia dresses too young. Don't like the shoes, don't like the hairstyle, don't like the way they carry their handbag etc etc. I often look at myself and wonder what you would all make of my choices!!! Thank God you cannot see me and pull me to pieces.

I agree, it must be so stressful to be in the public eye. And I would love to know how all these women manage to stand and walk on high heel shoes, days in and days out

  6. She is more like a movie star, absolutely not a queen. Why is she wearing fur???

  7. Spectacular. These photos made me say "wow" out loud.

  8. Stunning! Love the hair and this outfit goes to show nothing beats a little black dress.

Personally I find Letizia's figure to masculine and muscular, but it is her body and she has the right to do whatever she wants with her own body.

  9. She looks glamorous but something is off with this look.

  10. Ceci est un débardeur pour la plage pas une robe pour un concert classique.

  11. Her hairdo is just exquisite. As for the dress there is something lacking to be absolutely elegant.

    1. How Queen should look according to you? It is 21 Century, after all!

  13. I think this is s dress for a celebrity or for me but not for a Queen. Think she must respecto some protocolo or rules as she represents a Royal House. This is nothing to do with her weight or look just with her role in her country.

  14. She is stunning in photo getting out of car! She has embrassed her position and learned to dress for the part; maybe not such an easy thing as we may think. Modern day queens are also ladies who have been in the working world and I am thankful and keep my eye on them, as they represent the 'modern royals'.

  15. I love her hair but I agree with those who don't like the dress. It's not even her bony structure (I know I've mentioned the topic before but not this time) it's the dress itself. As others pointed it out, this is something a lesser known Hollywood starlet would wear. Back in 1996... No, it's not that she shows too much skin, it's that it looks like a lingerie. The material is cheap looking, as is the quality of sewing (look at the chunky threadlines at her neckline). And what IS that belt made of? It's like a little girl's goth themed crafts project. The belt is wide, the straps on the dress are very thin, the earrings are too small in relation to the volume of her hair, the belt and the large area of bare skin. The whole thing is off, disproportionate. Also: this much black requires some warmth, it just doesn't manage with the silvery accessories. Though I find the dress a plain ugly piece I could even like the look with a golden belt and tiny bit bigger gold/gold and coloured (preferrably red like her lipstick) earrings.
Ok, deep breathe... Her hair is lovely! :)

  18. Letizia is a very modern royal I think, and that reflects in her clothes. She must be every designers dream to dress ! For me this ensemble (top part of the dress)was little risqué ! But, I suppose when you look that good, why not !
