On June 11, 2016, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark visited the Heartland Festival at Egeskov Castle (Egeskov Slot) in Kværndrup, Denmark. The Heartland festival is weekend experience of music, art, talks and food, located in the stunning surroundings of Egeskov Castle and Gardens in Denmark, less than two hours’ drive from Copenhagen. Heartland festival takes place in the park surrounding Egeskov Castle. The castle is Europe's best preserved Renaissance water castle.
