    1. Anon 23:57 She's an educated economist, I believe. She usually attends conferences related to finance and international economic policy/banking. I hope these are opportunities to contribute to her passion while serving her country. I am just glad she also pursues a "fashion passion";)

    2. Correct, Maxima is very interested in economics, she was employed in the field before she was married.

  3. Anon 23:57: Which idiot would travel from Holland to Turkey for a picture opportunity? Don't you read papers? She is a highly skilled economist who, apart from being a queen, works for the UN and has a very busy schedule.....that's the reason why she was there. Now please continue reading your glossy magazines

  4. ANONYMOUS 23:57 - Please kindly do your research before making silly, snide remarks. Queen Maxima had to give up her job as Banker/Economist. She was a Senior Vice President. Ever heard of Klienwort Benson? A good number of today's Queens-In-Waiting are highly educated with diplomas and degrees. The fashion dress sense is simply an added bonus.....!!!

  5. She only has some higher education in economics, nothing special, i don't believe she has even a bachelor. She just has this position because of her husband.

  6. Maxima grew up in the Recoleta neighbourhood of Buenos Aires city, and studied at Northlands School, a bilingual school of the city of Olivos. She graduated with a degree in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in 1995, and later completed her studies with a Master's degree in the United States. She subsequently worked for large international finance companies in Argentina, New York, and Brussels. She also worked as an English language teacher to children and adults, and of Mathematics for high school students and freshmen.
Queen Máxima currently serves as the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA). The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon designated her to this role in September 2009 in order to raise awareness on the importance of inclusive financial systems for achieving economic and development goals such as poverty alleviation, food security and education.

    1. I've never before read this about Maxima and i doubt it she has a master degree. This is no where mentioned.

    2. The funny thing is that what you mention here is only from Wikipedia and is only available in English but in the Netherlands (where she is living and queen) this is not mentioned on the Wikipedia site. If s he realy had a master degree it would have been mentioned in Dutch as well. And i think the Wikipedia page in English is adjusted very recently, because this information was not known before.

    3. So it's better to be an Argentinian?

    4. @Iris I don't think your basal comments fit the tonality of this website. If you do comment, educate yourself first, before stating such short sighted comments. Thank you

  7. Nothing of what i read from her CV is considered high education in Argentina, and I live here, trust me. She has a normal degree and a normal work. I wouldn´t say she is highly educated.

  9. I come to this site to see pictures and sometimes read the comments on the royals but have avoided doing it everytime cuz' it has become a fan club of Mary of Denmark. It seems like every royal is open to unjust criticisms except Mary. That's ok it's suppose to be a forum but let's be dignified bout things. Now it's Maxima's education being questioned to the 10th degree and yet when Mary's is questioned hey the backfire of comments is just unbelievable. Is Mary the only educated royal that this forum wants to acknowledge and the rest are beneath her. Come on people. Let's give credence where it's due.

    1. Fashion and education discusse: it's okay. but, about the person, you can not write that you "married for money!" This is a personal insult and unacceptable.

    2. I agree i dont care about queen maxima education, what i see is a very hard working woman with good sense of style. If king W.A. found her good enough to be his wife thats good enough for me even if she was only capable of writting and reading i am sure she proved her worth....now is true that this blog sometines looks more like a fan club rather than a royalty blog. The Prince of Wales was on state trip lately with Camilla and nothing on this blog about them was post it and thats not right since he is the future king of england!

  10. If some of you don't believe in Maxima's education, enter the site of the dutch royal family and see her information there.
