The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William were the first royal couple, who showed up on a sailing event. They were authentic and all the others.....

    1. If you think so…
CP Mary and CP Frederik competed against each other a few days before their wedding in 2004.
CP Frederik, King Felipe, King Juan Carlos, King Harald(?) (and more) participated in real competitions over the last decades.
We have seen the Royal family of the Netherlands on the Groene Draeck years ago.
I'm sure I missed many more Royals.

Catherine wasn't the first Royal who was present at a sailing event and she wasn't the first who wore a red dress, white coat, nude high hells etc..
And she doesn't have to do this.
The press really tries to manipulate the readers concerning the Duchess of Cambridge.
But this is just my very own opinion...

Guys guys guys... don't you know that using capital letters and multiple exclamation marks and questions marks is the online equivalent of shouting? no matter what you say, it just makes readers switch off. If you want anyone to listen, play nicely.

This is not true. The Spanish Royals f.e. sail many years among other things at Olympia. Also the Norwegian Royals. William and Catherine are not the first one, don't hype them.

Yikes, all that long hair blowing around. I can see that as being potentially dangerous for the girls - blowing over their eyes, getting caught in something. Your family is on a boat, be careful. Danger doesn't care if someone is royal or peon.

Yes, King Harald competes in sailing. He has taken part in the Olympics too (just like his father King Olav), and I think he won a bronze medal as well....

King Olav got his first boat at 15, he won the gold in 1928 Olympic games. He had 75 year experience as a sailor before he died in 1991. King Harald got his first boat from his father i 1947, age 10. He participated in Olympic Games in 1964, 1968 and 1972. Won the world championship in 1987 and 2008. European Championship in 2005. And this summer he got the silver in Sira Cup in World Championship in Genève. Queen Sonja used to sail a lot to she is norwegian champion in sailing from 1985. So will and Kate..laughing

Ex King Constantine of Greece was a keen sportsman. In 1960, at the age of 20, he competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, winning a gold medal in sailing (Dragon Class) ...........So........Kate and William....aren't the first.....at all...!!!

  9. OMG such bickering! Each royal, queen, princess whatever, has her own style, her own hobbies and they do what they want as a family and what they have to do as royals. Nobody is better than the other, or prettier, or dresses better, or has a nicer family.... Jealous much some of you? smh

  12. Lovely pictures! Sail Amsterdam 1015 was a very nice event and it was a surprise that the royal family showed up. Also very nice to see the Queen mother Beatrix as captain of her own ship. Still going strong!
