Crown Prince Felipe and Crown Princess Letizia inaugurate Casa del Lector

On October 17, 2012, Crown Prince Felipe of Spain and Crown Princess Letizia of Spain attend the inauguration of "Casa del Lector" in Madrid, Spain. La Casa del Lector is a cultural centre in Matadero Madrid, focusing on readers and reading. A place to experiment with reading, its new forms of expression and its promotion.

Covering over 8,000 square metres, Casa del Lector occupies units 13 and 14, the gallery between these two units, unit 17b and part of unit 17c (3 bays) in Matadero Madrid.

Activities such as exhibitions, talks, book presentations, training courses, creative workshops, music cycles, cinema and dramatic art also take place here.

Children are very important for the Casa del Lector, which has created a space in which workshops are held to introduce them to reading.
