  1. Oh, dear. For the first time in a long time, I have to say that Charlene is wearing a terrible dress that looks silly on her. And the hat is worse. This is a rare miss, however, as she is usually elegant and spot on.

  2. Well. I promised myself I would stop saying much on the posts anymore. Tired of the scolding
    BUT
I have to say that hat or cap or whatever is ridiculous. Like a sideways baseball cap. Which is idiotic even on a teenager. FIX that hat :) really now its just silly on a PRINCESS. The dress is cute but that hat RUINS the entire look.

If you find my comment not to your liking just scroll by. Tired of the police.

    4. I can't scroll by but don't worry I am not the comment police. I completely agree with you. The hat is beyond silly.

    5. Looks like the hat hides even worse hairstyle.
I understand you. People try to change someone's opinion by judging. But that is mission impossible. The hat is too ugly.

    6. Oh, don't worry Diane. I guess this outfit (the hat/beanie???? What IS that anyway?) is the first thing in the Universe that has the potential to bring peace, harmony and complete unity of opinions to the commenters here. Or to the entirety of Planet Earth, as a matter of fact.

    7. Thanks ladies 😊

Yes ZL it seems to have put us all on the same team for once.

I call that "whatever it is" just ridiculous. Not to mention that slit. If she was at a pool party maybe it would be ok as a wrap or such. It is all weird.

  3. She looks awful with that ridiculous hat - good for a rapper, totally inappropriate look for a Princess

    1. I thought exactly the same. 😂

    2. what's even more inappropriate are the side slits exposing her legs almost up to he hip joints. sometimes i wonder what she's thinking when she picks such rags.

  4. Je n'ai rien compris à ce couvre-chef (béret ? casquette ? ...). Quoi qu'il en soit, ce n'est guère seyant.

  5. That cap is dreadful. What was she thinking? The dress - maybe okay for a pool party but definitely not for that event. A definite miss all round.

  6. She is usually so put together but this is a total mess from head to toe.

  7. Oh my! Charlene's outfit is way too much going on. The hat is just awful, is it supposed to be worn sideways? Or did she put it like that to look "edgy".
I actually like the dress but just for a different event. The last picture where she's sitting down and the slit on her dress is open makes me cringe. She's dangerously close to exposing too much. I can see the look Charlene was trying to achieve. A trendy, stylish fun youthful look, but she failed to pull it off.

  8. This is a strange looking scenery. Every little detail, every person. Are we on a movie-set? And AKRIS has not done a favour to her. Oh dear...

    1. To be fair this is not the worst AKRIS has done to her. Nobody here who remembers the see-through desaster she wore in Moscow?

    2. Totally forgot about that! It was cringe worthy for sure.

  9. Oh my goodness!! The whole outfit is a big miss. The hat/cap is dreadful. Who told her this looks good??

  11. The most interesting thing are her shoes. In the first pic they have two straps, in the other pics three.
But her brother seems to enjoy his " celebrity" status. Well, he and the mother already had Dollar symbols in their eyes during the wedding ceremony

  12. I have often wondered, how large is her shoe size...

    1. Yes, these shoes are several numbers too small. Outfit looks like bath towel. Total miss.

  19. Diane Brown, don't ever stop commenting on this very civilized blog, I for one, always enjoy reading you. You know when people start deviating from the purpose of this forum is because they have their own personal agenda, and love to gossip.
I am speechless ( rare instance) OMG, the hat is utterly ridiculous on anybody older than 15, the dress looks like the old prison uniform caricatures, I can't like the sandals which could have been salvageable with another outfit. Big fat zero on this occasion.

    2. Thank you Cherry Blossom and Rochelle :)

I know I can go off sometimes and I apologize for those times. Ppl can say all they want about how they disagree w me or any of us about a look. That often strays into wondering about "why" they may dress a certain way as in our mysterious Stephanie. BUT when some ppl attack any of us and acuse us of personal attacks on the royals then I get.... feisty!

I can take criticism. Or a soft scolding to rein it in. I was going on about Stephanie and our friend Blondiini told me to "take a breath". She was right. I did. That is how it should be. I respect Blondiini. But when ppl drop down here and have snarky remarks to all of us on every post it makes me push back. Anyway...

I love this blog and the interaction we all have together.

  20. lol..for the first time everyone in the comments has the same opinion. i wish she had kept to her simple self that taking a risk on this outfit. even the shoes are a no no!!

  21. I think someone else mentioned this but in the first picture her shoes have two straps and the other have three straps. Maybe she tried walking without that middle strap but the shoes are so high, it must have been difficult. Once again, I just say this is a dreadful outfit especially that horrid hat.

    1. I think it is two different pair of shoes. The lower strap on the first photo is broader, than what we see on the later photos. The heels - stiletto killer heels :-))) - in the later photos are higher, than the first ones. I think at least 14 cm. Anyway two or three straps - even for a trained model it is almost impossible to walk in sandals like this, with such thin straps and almost no hold from the heel. I know it, because I tried it ;-)))
In the last photo next to the model's picture you can clearly see that she can't even stand on them, her feet are dangerously overstretched. Shoes are even too small. I have no idea what this whole outfit is meant to be. But the shoes are hideous. Seriously, you can get hurt in these killer heels when doing a wrong step. Is this worth it?

  22. Did she think this was a costume party? From the "Little Rascals" cap turned sideways, to the prison stripes or is it sports referee look, she is a ridiculous mess. Party costume she gets a thumbs up, but to a racing event where the men are dressed in top hats and tails, thumbs down.

  23. First picture reminds me of "Goldfinger".(that guy with the hat in his hands?) And picture 5 is the best.

  24. OMG....wowzers....this is horrendous! What was she thinking? oh hang on....she wasn't!

  25. I feel so sorry for her feet!

  26. Killer heals! Heaven knows how Charlene managed to walk in them.

Not a favourite look. I think this dress would have looked smarter with the very traditional red accessories.

  27. These shoes are certainly NOT made for her... Too high, too small, wrong fit. Looks really bad.

    1. Oh, come on! Your comment is vile and unjust. We aren't 'negative people' and I'm sure few of us lament in front of a mirror thinking how miserable we are. We just have an OPINION on an OUTFIT that differs from yours!

I very much sympathise with Charlene, I dare say I like her very much (as much as you can like someone you don't know personally) but this outfit, mainly the hat is just unflattering for her. Do you even understand the word unflattering? I'm afraid the hat would be unflattering and ridiculous on anyone, for that matter.

Again, I cannot accentuate enough that I LIKE Charlene VERY MUCH - this is just a really bad outfit on her.

    2. We have been down this road before. This is a fashion blog!! If we don't like an outfit we say that. Otherwise, what's the point of coming on this site - which is immensely entertaining, by the way - if we are just to lavish praise on every outfit?
I think the issue is that some commentators have strong personal favourites among the royals and cannot bear to have them criticized.

      Delete
    3. Am I the only one that notices that every now and then someone appears here that we have never seen and starts to dig at us? Personal attacks. The name changes but the words remain the same.

These are the ppl that say we are this or that and we attack the royals when in fact it is they that ARE making rude comments to us.

Then they go away and we never see them again. Until a new one appears. Very odd.

I also like Charlene. I have always cheered for her. Monaco is a bubble and must be at times very claustrophobic. Perhaps this is her letting loose and having fun. Fine! But it is an epic failure. No one w any fashion sense would say this is "fabulous". The parts each alone mught work but together it is a silly unbecoming look for grown women. Much less a Princess.

She rarely fails. But she did here. They all fail off and on. This is not personal at all.

Her seemingly obsession w botox et al.... is not good. Her features are drastically changing. Nothing wrong w a women wanting to feel good and or using botox or fillers. But there is a line... and once it is crossed it becomes clownish. She is one toe over that line...ok maybe 2.

  31. Rene DT, I haven't seen any negative comments regarding Charlene as a person, most of the comments are about her clothes, which is the theme of this forum. My opinion about this horrid outfit, obviously is different than yours, but that does not make me miserable. Insulting people that don't agree with you is definitely out of line.
    Have a nice day.
