  1. Dear me. It's great that Mary rewears her old gowns, but I feel this "gift-wrapped" frock is in serious need of a de-ribboning intervention :).
Mary does some great refashioning of old gowns. I would love to see this gown, which is a fantastic colour on Mary, with the only trim being the cowled satin at the neck (as shown).

I agree. Just the satin at the neck or even extended down the back but off the bodice.

I admire her re-modelling her gowns and this dress does need a re-vamp.

  2. That is an ugly dress.

  3. I still hate this gown. It needs a redo. For starters, take the hip ribbon off!!!! That would be a big improvement.

The dress is ok, love the color and the Crown Princess herself is beautiful.

Mit diesem Kleid konnte ich mich noch nie richtig anfreunden. Immerhin steht es Mary besser als dem Modell auf dem Laufsteg!

I am really not a fan of this gown. She looks like her home country's kangaroo. Premier brand doesn't mean it can suit you.

Agree why do you use a headline that a Queen holds a dinner without even showing her? This blog obviously just care about what a few of the young ladys do, not the older Queens(ok once every blue moon we see a story about QE goes to curch, Silvia in a meeting and so on )or the royal men.

Fact -The Queen was inside and therefore will not been seen arriving, the one of Frederik and Mary is on arrival, there maybe some later of the Queen but not usually any from inside.

Perhaps you should write to the Queen and ask her as it is obvious that noone here would know why.

HORRILE GOWN! AND YES DE-RIBBONING WOULD HAVE MADE THIS GOWN LOOK BETTER??. . . REMINDS ME OF A GIFT TOO.

NOT A CHOICE AT ALL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS A BRAND!

Oh dear she does love this dress. I still hate it. I like the colour and the cut on her but please, those ugly ribbons... One of my most hated royal patterns after Mabel's wedding gown knots :-).
Anyway Mary really has class because not everybody could afford to look that good in such a horrible outfit.

    1. I am actually very fond of Mabel's wedding bows. They remind me of Queen Elizabeth I's gowns. My pet peeve is enormous ruffles - specifically, 3 of Queen Sonja's evening gowns in retina-searing red, yellow and orange. After viewing them, McQueen is almost a relief :).

Hahaha you are right to mention Queen Sonia'a big ruffles yellow dress, accesorized with her emerald parure... An absolute nightmare but she wears it with prise ;-)

I couldn't agree less, I like Sarah very much and feel she gets a bad press. Not so keen on the dress except for the color, but the dress does nothing for Sarah at all while Mary with her posture carries it well and even looks elegant.

Sorry 11:02 then we have to agree to disagree. Look at the ribbon on Mary(square on her belly and on the waist they look to long and bulky), not good, but on Sarah and the model much better. Mary is to skinny for this dress, Sarahs form much better. Look at the zimbo pics.

I have seen the photos and with Sarah it accentuates her lumps and bumps, the ribbons are almost under her stomach making it more pronounced also it is to tight it is bunched under the waist ribbons and this makes her very hippy -not so good. It suits Mary because of her slimness and of course the model is thinner again so it suits her also. It still looks reasonable on Sarah and she looks happy wearing it as does Mary so that is the main thing.

Not too keen on this dress, or on Mary really ! Out of all the royal ladies, she's my least favourite ! Always prefer to see Princess Marie, she's a natural at her role, and a splendid addition to the Danish Royal Family !

Really? Marie and her husband are the least loved royals in Denmark. Mary is the most popular. Danes don't care about such fickle and very personal perception of being "natural" (btw many People see Marie as the fake one); they only behold the facts. And facts are the Crownprince couple are the most hard working of them, and the least spending money.
Danes really do have some grievance against Joachim because of his attitude and because they are paying the marriage He couldn't handle with Alexandra.
As for your natural Marie, do you know how the Danes got to know her for the first time? She called the paparazzi and posed for them in front of her then residence in Geneva ever before Joachim could confirm their relationship and introduce her to his parents and his country.
So an addition to the Danish royal family, yes. But a splendid one? Danes are not that impressed.

The dress is not nice at all,but yet a little bit funny to see.....perhaps it is her favourite after all.
