    1. Me too. There's one thing about the Scandinavian "Royals", be it Denmark, Sweden or Norway. There have been no divorces, unlike the Brits with Anne, Charles and Andrew, and that's maybe due to the fact that some of them had to get through opposition to their marriages.

    2. No divorces? Prince Joachim?

    3. Lizzie, they've only just started their married life, at least in Sweden... Que sera, sera. Madeleine also has one broken off engagement in her luggage. (And, we have Joachim in Denmark, as Anonymous points out). Having said that, keeping out of the public eye as much as possible, is probably healthy for your marriage, albeit expensive for taxpayers who need to see some kind of return on their investment.

  2. Every time I see them I see extreme adoration in Prince Carl Philip eyes for Princess Sofia!

  3. Underneath the titles, they are people with emotions like everyone else. But in French we say: tout lasse, tout passe, tout casse. (Everything gets to be boring, everything passes, everything breaks). It certainly was true for the British clowns named above.

    1. Lizzie: It seems you think anyone who is divorced is a “clown”; what a harsh view of a significant number of people (and probably royal followers) in our communities.
It is mean and nasty to call anybody names. And, it is always the fallback of someone who doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
You are not expected to like every single royal; however, if you were to meet Anne, Charles or Andrew in person, they would undoubtedly treat you with respect -- a respect which you have refused to give them in your comment. There is a lot to be learned from royals, not the least of which is how to treat others, regardless of whether you like them or not. It’s what is called good manners, plain and simple.

  5. Its very strange. Sofia only married in June and she expressed her desire to work for Sweden and Swedish people.
Now she seems to be going from one vacation to another and in the middle she had a couple of visits and job events.
At least Chris was honest and declined the title and continued to work and earn his own money and support his own family. Sofia should have done the same. But, oops, she didn't work before the marriage and has no education to apply for decent job. So I guess she continue to take vacations after vacations. What a shame.

    1. But at least she is not hiding and secretive, Prince Carl P. Princess Sofia are seen out and about performing duties with the public.

The British willnot and waity cannot family of four, are in hiding most of the year, avoid duties and charities, leading luxury lifestyle/shopping/pampered secret lives with royal perks, palace and mansions, and appear for PR or end of year count believing the people are fooled.

  7. A "private visit" could mean anything, perhaps a "Medical" appointment, who are we to know.

I guess you have never been pregnant. So you wouldn't understand the sleepiness, the broken nights, the intermittent pain and emotional lability that are the norm for most pregnant women. At the start of pregnancy, many women have every intention of continuing full-time work, but as the pregnancy unfolds, they often find it exhausting.
Every woman’s body responds differently. We certainly cannot take the photos we have seen of beaming and energetic pregnant royals (Victoria, Madeleine, Kate) as the norm for all women. For the sake of her baby and herself, Sofia absolutely needs to keep her schedule open to change, as to how far she can push herself, as her pregnancy advances.
Personally, I am very happy for Sofia that she is getting a few days' break now, while she still can. No pregnant woman can predict how difficult she will find things after the baby comes. Only one thing is certain - after the birth Sofia will find her life more challenging than she ever imagined. But right now, Sofia has to put her health first, not the Palace agenda.

    1. If you can go on long trips, take endless vacations, party then you can work. She says she is just fine. She is addicted to glitz and attention.
