Is it new? It looks great, and I love her hair style too. All the ladies look beautiful in their gala gowns.

The British royals have NEVER BEEN CLOSE to the European royals, they feel like they are ABOVE the Europeans, that is ONE of the reasons why they have change their name from BATTENBERG (Germany) to WINDSOR, it sound more English and the people like it.

    2. Anonymous15/4/15 22:59

They changed their name due to anti-German sentiment in the war, not because they think they are above anyone.

How many big European royal occasions have the British royals attend? Not many! And if you read the bio of queen Victoria, she has no kind words about the Europeans.

Victoria's children and grandchildren married into all the major royal families - that's why she's known as the Grandmother of Europe. I can imagine she had a few things to say about how her family lived their lives, just like any mother or grandmother would. If she was harsh it's because she knew what was at stake. Look at what happened in Russia - her granddaughter married a weak man with no political savvy and he and Alexandra and their 5 children were shot to death.

The King of Norway is the man in the second last frame. Queen Sonja is in the US for an important Prize Ceremony.

Queen Letizia's upper arms and face look more round. I suspect she is injected a 'filler' into those area.

Your comment tells more about you than the Spanish Queen !
It is obvious that the Queen of Spain is doing exercising such as weight lifting. When one does that on a regualary base and with heavy weights one gets those muscels her arms are showing.
Working as a representative woman of a coutry is a tough jobb - every time one shows up, everything one does or not does is judged by far to many people, believing they are ellected to judge other people, instead of focusing on their own small lives !

    3. Mathilde has no royal blood. The she the daughter of a minor country squire.

    5. Mathilde's father was not a "minor country squire", but rather the son of a baron (Mathilde's grandfather). Accordingly, she was born a "jonkvrouw", which is equivalente to untitled hereditary nobility (Mathilde's uncle inherited the baronial title from her grandfather) Later, King Albert II elevated Mathilde and all her family to the rank of count/countess.

In my opinion Queen Maxima is the most elegant, followed by Queen Letizia. Queen Mathilde (Ididn't know she was royal before her marriage) looks good but I've seen her better.

If I have to choose one I would definitely say Letizia. She looks superb, she has such an innate elegance, but I have to add that Mathilde and Maxima look fantastic. I think this is the first occasion the three new queens are gathered together.

Shouldn't we say something about the elder generation? Queen Silvia is as always perfection. Her tiara is stunning - really regal. And I Love Queen Margerethe's red dress. She should be the center of attention even though she isn't young and like the other Queen L, M and M and the two princesses - therefor good decision on the red. Don't you agree?

Not a big fan of Letizia, but I have to admit that this time she looks beautiful. Love her hairdo. Beautiful pictures of all the guests.

I have great respect for Queen Letizia - her work and the way she dresses and she looks like a wonderful mother and wife. I love her face, hair and her posture. But she is awfully slim! She has lost a great amount of weight since she became princess, just like Kate Middleton and CP Victoria for a while. Scroll you're screen so that you can not see her face, maybe you will see what I mean. I don't think that this is a good role model for young women. I know that most of you won't agree with me, but just take a moment and think about it - my intention is good.

Queen Letizia has always been slim, even before becoming a princess when she was a news reader and a reporter, so is her sister Thelma, it is in their genes. You may not like slim people, but there is nothing wrong with Letizia.
Victoria was anorexic, as she did admit publicly, Letizia is not, so I don't know why you are comparing them.
And I don't know what do you mean she is not a good role model, a woman who had an excellent career as journalist, a woman who has done a great job as a princess for a decade and as queen for almost a year. A woman who is happily married and has two beautiful and healthy children, a woman who comes from a very close family, It is not her fault if her body is slim, I just wonder if your comment is product of a deep envy?

It's a bit sad that one can't raise a question in this Forum without being bashed. I payed lots of compliments to the Queen and meant no offense! I mentioned Victoria and Kate because it is a well known fact that princesses tend to loose weight due to a hectic schedule and lots of media attention. I'm not envious, I have too struggled with too low a weight. When I wrote that about her as a role model I meant just surrounding her weight - lot's of young women today are influenced by royalty and try to loose weight when they should not. And Queen Letizia has not always been this slim. I'm sorry if I offended you, but a nicer tone would be nice. I raise the question due to my own negative experience of low weight - not envy!

  19. They all look nice but I must say Letizia is way too thin. It might be in her genes but she was definitely 'heavier' when she was first married. She looks anorexic now and also need to stop with the plastic surgery/Botox she looks plastic, and is only a young woman. What will she look like when she gets older. Only saying!!

Obviously we all have different taste when it comes to beauty, in my opinion Letizia looks very elegant, really classy, beautiful, and has an amazing figure. The dress is superb and I love her new tiara. I don't think she looks plastic at all, to me she looks beautiful. And wherever she goes she is the centre of the attention, she always gets the comments (as in this post)

Queen Letizia is one of the best dressed of the current royal ladies and once again she was the belle of the ball at Queen Margrethe of Denmark's birthday party in this stunning gown by Felipe Varela.
Letizia absolutely loves this Spanish label and is constantly spotted wearing it whether on official business or just spending time with her family. And for a special occasion you can't beat some intricate embellishment to really turn heads.
This layered column dress is lovely on the Queen and skims her slender frame beautifully.
