  1. That is a BIG coat. And the material looks like upsolstery fabric.

  2. Did she slaughter her old couch and made a coat out of it?

  3. This is a big NO from me. Both hat and coat are ugly. Shapeless huge coat and fuzzy hat in middle of April is not good at all. Good thing Maxima has such a warm radiant smile at least.

  4. What's going on with Natan lately? Some of their clothes are just hideous. Shapeless, too short, ugly prints and patterns. Not a good look for the royal ladies who like to wear their designs.

    1. Yes, but are they forced to wear them? Do they have some sort of contract? Are they paid to wear these ugly clothes? Would they need this extra income? Honestly, I have some questions here, and if someone has insight behind the fashion scene, please, help me undestand this. I would not wear this monstrum of a coat, even if I was paid for (....okay, maybe it depends on the price they would pay ;-), but it would have too be a very high one, for one hour of suffering....)

    2. La reine Maxima a porté de manteau tapisserie et ce chapeau noix de coco pendant sa visite à Paris et Nous parisiens n'avons pas oublié l'horreur!

    3. Chelsea, Beth: I agree with you, the coat is awful. On the Natan issue, being myself a client at Natan, there is far far more than these over-the-top outfits that Maxima likes to wear, Mathilde sometimes also. Maybe take into account that the outfits considered as the best ones/most elegant ones that these 2 queens have worn, also do come from Natan. Maxima and Mathilde chose themselves directly at Natan and their Head Designer what they buy/want to wear.

    4. Gisela, yes, I have seen a docu a couple years ago, about Natan and Maxima and Mathilde being their top clients. And I do like some of the Natan dresses and robes very much on both queens. But why choose something that ill fitting, that looks really terrible, that's what I don't get. And you would also think that the designer has the measurements of their clients, it would be an easy thing to adjust the length.

    5. Gisela, yes we know that Maxima and Mathilde love to wear Natan. The issue for me is that lately their designs have become so ugly. Every time either of them step out wearing something from there it's too short, shapeless, ugly prints and patterns, doesn't fit right.
I'm not sure if Natan has a new creative director or something but their new collections simply don't look right for queens to be wearing.

  6. Coat looks like it's made of a comforter. At least you can snuggle under it. Big NO.

  7. Oh dear, this is just awful. That hat... please Maxima use it to inflame campfire or something else creative. But never ever wear it again.

  8. I don´t mind the coat´s fabric nor the colours, but there is quite a bit of excess material in it, and it looks weird, like a coat that wanted to be a cape but didn´t quite manage. The hat is hideous, like every time she pulls it out. Just put it in a tree, up-side-down, and let the birds use it to nest in it.

  9. i love the coat! but not the hat :(

    she looks like having fun!

  10. I love the coat! I love interestingly textured fabrics, and the fact that it has a lot of pink in it doesn't hurt either. I also really like the accessory color. She really needs that neutral color given all that's going on with the coat. As to the hat, well..... but you know, her beautiful smile makes anything look good!

  11. She's the prettiest walking rug I've ever seen. But seriously, only Max can pull this off. Love it on her!

  14. I completely agree with the negative comments about this coat. However, if there is anyone who could pull it off, it is Maxima!

    1. No one can pull this off, smiles or no smiles. That coat is ugly and i have no words for that half coconut thing on her head.

  17. omw queen Maxima. what is going on! i dont like anything about the outfit.

  18. It makes her look fat! The proportions are off. Did she dress in the dark, or what? It reminds me of the movie, "The Sound of Music" when Maria uses the drapes to make clothing for the Von Trapp children and herself. I wonder what the king thinks of it, or Princess Beatrix.

  19. I agree ! This outfit is not the best at all on anyone for that matter. The hat looks like coconut fibre that you use for pot plants and the coat!! Just horrible. Here's the thing - I don't understand why she is dressed this way to visit a children's restaurant??? Surely something a little less formal would suffice??
