I agree. I do not mean to criticize, but the skirt looks old fashioned and her hairstyle makes her look old.

Sehe ich auch so.Passend zum Anlass.
Außerdem ist das englische Protokoll sehr sehr konservativ.
Frisur und Hut finde ich klasse!

how OLD is Kate??? she dresses as an 60 year old lady HORRIBLE!! should take some fashion tips from Queen Maxima & Mathilde, always in bright bold vibrant colours! and not dark and old fashioned as she Kate does!

She was at a memorial service for a war - she was dressed appropriately.

No kidding! I'm an over-60 grandma and even I wouldn't dress like Kate usually does, especially on this occasion.

This ensemble makes her look old and color not good on her. Skirt too long and looks out of fashion. Her hairstyle is an old ladies' hairdo.

    1. Black is terrible color to Catherine when used near face, it takes all her own colors away and makes her look very tired.

But in other hand this situation was not a place to look cheerful and take attention from the Queen. So in that aspect Catherine had very proper clothes.

The Queen has invited the whole family.Wisdom is a gift of age. She is the first high noble, who has understood that honesty also means respect for all, who are the family. Hats off.

Prince William and Kate Middleton make an unexpected appearance at a ceremony marking 100 years since the end of the Gallipoli campaign. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, who is patron of the Gallipoli Association, stood still as the Last Post was played by a bugler and a minute's silence was observed. Then, with solemnity and quiet dignity, the Queen and Duke each placed a wreath at the war memorial dedicated to local men who fought in the Great War and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

  12. I thought she cut her hair? her hair down would be just fine in this occasion. I have said this before and will again, that the pencil skirt would look just fine on her, why did she feel like she should flare it is beyond me.

I really, really like Kate's ensemble. I think the skirt is lovely it shows off her very slim figure beautifully. I am also pleased she has done something with her hair. She has lovely hair, but usually she seems to spend most of the time pushing it away from her face.

I don't believe it is the outfit that is aging Kate, personally I believe it is her makeup. While she is still a relatively young woman (and I know if this comment is published I will get a backlash) she isn't aging well (too much time in the sun perhaps?), also less is more as a woman ages. I think she needs to take a lighter hand withe her makeup. Less black and more softer, subtle colours.

As for the Middleton Family I would imagine they were in attendance because the Queen invited them. Kate and William are obviously close to Kate's family and after everything Diana went through the Queen may well be doing everything she can to make sure Kate feels welcome and supported and that may mean including and welcoming Kate's family to some events/functions. The are a future Royal Heirs Grandparents!

The poor duchess, always criticism. Her suite is the latest fashion. It is winter and very cold. Its the Duchess choice what she wants to wear. She is not a carbon copy from other Royal Houses ladies of Europe and elsewhere. It was her birthday and like any normal family will do and you are blessed to still have your parents, they visited the Duchess for her birthday. Do study the history of Gallipoli. The Duchess dressed for the occasion. A bright colour outfit would not have been appropriated for the ceremony. Duchess will always be beautiful and a stylish icon.

This is the prob with suede boots, but of course you CAN clean them and proof them with a spray afterwards. Kate's suede boots/shoes etc. always look worn and old which destroys the whole look.

No, she shouldn't do that. I think it's not easy to be the Duchess of Cambridge. It's stress no matter how much advantage this title brings as for lifestyle and wealth. It's a demanding job despite all her 24/7 staff. I think she looks ok, she has never been a beauty. She's ok.

    3. Anonymous13/1/16 14:04

I agree, Anonymous 22:43. I have never understood why the Duchess is so poorly styled and groomed. She has never seemed to me to be holding up well to her lifestyle - often appearing tired, thin, weak, listless and disinterested. She has not seemed to take advantage of her opportunities for personal growth or setting a positive tone in leadership for the public. She still seems to be an outsider in the royal family for whatever reason, wishing to hold fast to her Middleton identity instead. Obviously she will be criticized, it's part of public life (and any life, frankly), but she doesn't seem interested in taking charge of her public image. Showing some warmth and sincerity would go a long way in her favor.

That's true and I wonder why? I think her heels are way too high, with a certain height it is almost impossible to walk gracefully. This and the way she holds her clutch while walking. It's so unnatural to carry a clutch this way and maybe this all together causes a bad posture and prevents normal movements.
