King Philippe and Queen Mathilde welcome president Erdogan of Turkey

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan are welcomed by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium during an official welcoming ceremony at the Royal Palace in Brussels on October 5, 2015. Erdogan's visit comes as it emerged that 630,000 people have entered the European Union illegally this year, many coming via Turkey, and that Germany could receive up to 1.5 million asylum-seekers in 2015.
