Amal Alamuddin wore a dress by Oscar de la Renta to make an honest man of longtime bachelor George Clooney on Saturday.

WWD has learnt from the Clooney camp that it was the New York based label, Oscar de la Renta, that dressed the bride on her big day. Dominican-American fashion designer Oscar de la Renta is famed for his ultra glamorous evening-wear, think Upper East side.

The human rights barrister first stepped out on Friday in a black and white striped dress by Dolce & Gabbana. She was then pictured later that evening at the rehearsal dinner in a red patterned dress by Alexander McQueen.

Post-wedding it was a white embroidered off the shoulder heavy lace haute couture gown by Giambattista Valli without even the tiniest hint of a hangover to accompany it.

And today for the civil ceremony, in a look vaguely reminiscent of Bianca Jagger's Yves Saint Laurent white tuxedo for her wedding to Mick Jagger, Alamuddin chose a stylish tailored Stella McCartney trouser suit complete with matching over-sized hat.
