Silly me :-))), I thought they choose the color they like and that matches the dress. The ruby of Mary's sash goes so well with her dress, I thought that's why she chose it and I was wondering about Mathildes choice. Now I understand there is more behind it. I'm not an expert but from the point of view of esthetics I don't see that the tiara matches the necklace, either in style or in colour. I think she's deep into it by now.
I wouldn't say the same of Mathilde though. I happened to have a glimpse at her from rather close at a church in Brussels (the lucky tourist that I was :), it was like two years ago and she definitely did not have any signs of ps on her face at that time. Or if she had than it was the worst ps treatment ever performed on Earth 'cause it left her head with age appropriate wrinkles and all. She might have had some botox lately, who knows, but I really don't see anything remotely as strange going on on her face as the things happening on Mary's.
As for the dresses: I don't like Mary's, I hate those short sleeves and the dress itself screams for some kind of embellishment (a sparkly belt?), it's just a plain sea of shiny satin as it is. Her hair is fabulous though. I quite like Margrethe's look, but oh man those yellow teeth! Marie is very much standard Marie, she doesn't look particularly good or stylish but appropriate. By now I think this is the best she can do and she'll probably never find a way that's both her own and stylish.
As for Mathilde, am I the only one who doesn't like her dress? A good cut indeed but the material reminds me of a curtain in a Donald Trump-esque palace in the seventies.ZLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09277591794820799985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2065972902087062391.post-47326694030171366182017-03-29T19:24:49.383+01:002017-03-29T19:24:49.383+01:00I've thought it's about right-handers and ...I've thought it's about right-handers and left-handers (a joke) Coraliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05110481473035424745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2065972902087062391.post-90320068953631462732017-03-29T17:16:24.664+01:002017-03-29T17:16:24.664+01:00All ladies looked so nice, especially Mathilde'...All ladies looked so nice, especially Mathilde's. This gown does however remind me of one of Mary's gowns.

Mary looks stunning, I love this gown. The simple elegant style, the colour, the material and it looks fantastic with the sash and the ruby parure - so elegant!

Mathilde's gown is horrid! Pretty design, but shocking colour and it clashes badly with the Danish Order of the Elephant. Read what I wrote later about it.

I think Mary´s rubies match very well with that burgundy order sash and nude evening dress. Also jewels honour state visits, so if Mary had her smallest tiara here it would have been insult to her friend couple Philippe and Mathilde. Rubies are her best jewels. That is also why Mathilde wears that ugly Nine Provinces tiara, it is the most valuable she has.Blondiinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00023296581379404384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2065972902087062391.post-63053986018246452712017-03-29T06:44:06.482+01:002017-03-29T06:44:06.482+01:00Each sash has it´s own policy, it is not about Dan...Each sash has it´s own policy, it is not about Danish or Belgian it is about what order sash they use and what rules that particular order has. Most sashes are worn from right shoulder to left side but Danish Order of Elephant sash is worn from left shoulder to right side (the pale blue sash here what Philippe and Mathilde have)). Margaretha and Frederick have here Belgian Order of Leopold sashes (highest sash foreign can have from Belgie), Mary and Joachim have Belgian Order of Crown sashes (step lower) and Marie has Belgian Order of Leopold II sash (again step lower).

These sashes are kind of courtesy. If they are having their own games, for example Danish New Year party they have their own country´s highest orders. When they go to official state visits they give each others orders (and sashes) from their country as gift and in these state visit dinners they wear the highest order and sash of the opposite country. Then there are different policys with different sashes who can have it, in some coutries they get all just the same order and sash, in others they have dozen different level orders.

Order is not just a sash, look them closer and you can see they have big order medals (women under bust). Someone wrote about Frederick´s and Joachim´s medals, they are smaller medals of these orders they have, not any medals after war or something. These smaller bust medals are also in order they got them. For example Frederick get his first from Sweden.
Blondiinihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00023296581379404384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2065972902087062391.post-75936871472990023462017-03-29T06:34:05.783+01:002017-03-29T06:34:05.783+01:00Okay, is it just me or is Queen Margarethe wearing...Okay, is it just me or is Queen Margarethe wearing one of Crown Princess Mary's dresses?Caseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16454114357977846319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2065972902087062391.post-75284638614719324232017-03-29T06:03:01.884+01:002017-03-29T06:03:01.884+01:00There's always something wrong with Mathildes ...There's always something wrong with Mathildes face, think they both had fillers.
