  1. Welcome to Canada! Such a nice touch to wear red!

  2. Not choices I would guess for this Queen but I love them. She looks great!

  3. Oh, I like that red cape/coat. So lovely. And the hat goes fine with it. But those boots are clashing big time with the rest of the outfit. She really needed more formal, elegant boots to make it a coherent look.
Her second outfit is nice, if one ignores the high water trousers. That hem situation just looks bad. Either wear full length trousers properly covering the ankles, or go casual and tug in the trousers in a pair of high country-style boots.

    1. She wore black heels for the event, but changed into the boots when she decided to participate in some sort of tree planting, it was a rather sensible gesture, much appreciated by the Canadian press.

  4. Queen Mathilde looks very beautiful in red! But I don't like the boots with this outfit... They seem very confortable and warm but don't fit with the hat and coat...

  6. I think Mathilde is far too you to wear this kind of clothes (fit of red outfit), it makes her look over 75 years old. i like the colour though.

  8. I like the cape, hate the hat and don't love the boots but they're warm and practical. I like the more casual outfit especially the jacket.

  9. The coat is wonderful!
But pleeeaase throw away that hat and that awful boots! They destroy the outfit.

  10. Red cape/coat looks good but I do not like the hat or boots. The hat has far too wide brim to her face and outfit. But it is difficult to find nice hats if you do not use them often (like Maxima or and British royals).

    Second combination looks good.

  11. She was wearing black high heel shoes and put on the boots for planting the tree ceremony, it seems.

  12. Personally, I don't like the hat - she looks much better with something like a cloche.

  13. I think Mathilde's red ensemble is over the top, too much red and her boots are the worst pair of snow boots I have ever seen.
