  1. This is Trapp family with first glance. LOL.

I love to sing Verdi, Aida´s aria Ritorna Vincitor is one of my favorites. Quite a killer aria really. Wish I were there listening that opera myself.

  2. I don't get the reason why the boys and Eleonore are "costumed". They're spectators, not participants. I love Aida's Triumphal March.

    2. Would be quite something to watch "Aida" with singers performing in Lederhosen and Dirndl. I think, they (Belgian Royal Family, that is) went shopping for traditional clothing before, something so many do when being in Salzburg or Austria or Bavaria, and then wanted to put it one when going to the Opera House. Surely as simple as that. Get the "Sound of Music" feeling...

    3. Sounds logical - the clothes, I mean. I can't quite see Aida being performed in lederhosen and dirndl tho. .

  3. Lovely family. The Queen's dress, obviously a Natan, is a gorgeous floral print. The length is much better than her usual but the waist is still high and the short sleeves are tight and unflattering to my eye. This must be a comfortable fit for Mathilde since most of her dresses are like this. Could Natan be repeatedly using the same bodice pattern?

  5. I love Mathilde's and Elisabeth's dresses. The other kids look like they are performing in Sound of Music. Odd.

  6. Just like in Norway, the Austrian dirndl for girls/women and the gray boiled wool jackets for men/boys are considered very dressy outfits, not costumes. They are quite an investment. So they are well-dressed and in Austria. Very fitting!

  7. Dans beaucoup de régions autrefois autrichiennes, comme les Dolomites, les gens portent les costumes traditionnels .Sur des femmes c'est beaucoup plus gracieux que sur des fillettes avec corselets et jolis décoltés.

  8. But they're Belgian, not Österreicher. You don't wear limono, sari, guayabera or Charro suit when you attend an Opera performance in Japan, India, Cuba or México if you're not Japanese, Indian, Cubsn or Mexican.
